I used to think their lyrics were dumb, until I traveled to Thailand, India, and a bunch of other countries and heard people who spoke very little English singing along with these songs at every bar. I realized it’s actually genius, they have huge global hits that don’t need to be translated.

Hate to sound hipster, but I have. It's the Ole Tubthumping rip. They actually made a horrible song to prove that people are stupid enough to eat it up. Which, ironically, is very clever. well it took a bit for me to get into pop, but I was there before black eyed peas. I grew up on rap. rock and roll was always cool too. And black eyed peas is still great to me. a fun party song to mix it all together, bring it on. ever been in the military or any setting where people are from everywhere and listen to their own genre mostly? drinking coubtry songs, hard and party rap, pop or rock and roll....well THAT'S the place where black eyed peas shine the most. Put that on and EVERYONE feel like a PIECE of what they like is beinf represented.

This sketch really hit home, because back in High School we made a similar skit with my improv team. But it was all the Black Eyes Peas members in a writting room !

BEP is a really talented group. Their earlier stuff was so good. I felt like they had to dumb it down to get more mainstream. Their first 2 albums were sogood. Bridging the gap was 👌🏽
