Why on this earth is this truth not written down in plain English into one modern colorful holy book ? Maybe It's change that is frowned upon. And maybe I'm a bad guesser. I'll just leave this mystery on the sidewalk. So many folks just aren't into commandments.

Nowadays, we live near Lake Garda in the peace and quiet - and we love it. And yes, this video should be a requirement for tour guides!

We just went on a kayaking tour in the bayou, and a woman in the tour said, “I cannot swim, I don’t like water, and I don’t like animals. There’s ground to walk on and air to breathe. There’s a ton of people and they all need food and toilets. Just like home. So I told them wherever you go there you are. They were not impressed. But I always blossomed when I traveled. I never packed my Same Sad You! But, oh boy, have I seen it.

Yes, the line about "how you behave in group settings" is one of the underappreciated lines of truth in this bit. I discovered in my twenties that for me it's the other way around: I'm willing to travel alone and not afraid of traveling alone, but I enjoy myself a little more if I'm among people, at least the first day in a new place. My dad's cousin had to point that out to me, though she was careful to reassure me that there's nothing wrong with that, it's just something I needed to realize about myself before planning trips.

This is one the greatest SNL sketches of all time. It is incredibly thoughtful and funny. It isn’t just about traveling to fix deep problems fast. It is about how are all trying to solve deep personal problems like depression, anxiety and low self esteem through things like travel, materialism and relationships. Solving emotional, spiritual and psychological problems comes from changing ones habits of thinking and living. Traveling has been beneficial for me but in order to solve my deeper problems I need to change how I think and live on a daily basis. Finding a partner or going to an exotic location will not complete me or anyone else.

Anyone who doesn't think Sandler is actually a good actor needs to see this sketch. Not only does he nail the slightly-wooden delivery of the "owner as spokesperson" in local commercials, but the way his voice slightly cracks when he says "it really gets to me" when people beat themselves up on the tours is just perfection.

@@JakeFish5058Yeah, it's hard to tell how good an actor is when they play characters with the same personality over, and over again. Take almost any clip of him acting any role, and it could be believable as part of any other movie he's been in. Not putting him down, it looks like he's happy, and he entertains a lot of people, but he doesn't really showcase his abilities much.

I’ve done the most traveling I have ever done in my life this year alone. Experienced my first time outside the US when I was in Australia, first cruise ever (Bahamas), traveled to 13 states, drove across multiple state border lines, went to my first ever Disney park (Disneyland), saw a concert at the Sphere in Vegas the week after Disney, and my depression is still here. My anxiety is still here. I quit my god awful, toxic job - but, decent pay - in August with nothing lined up. I now make a hundred bucks a week working the only job I’ve been able to find since then. A lot of these these trips were prepaid and budgeted. I sit here, grateful to have gotten to go but also realized I put so much pressure on my self AFTER the trips to have been “healed” by these trips, and while I learned so much and crossed a lot of my bucket list, Adam is right. Its a deeper lying issue. Thanks for cheering me up when nothing else does, SNL. This sketch is uplifting in its own unique way.

SNL should do a whole therapy-through-comedy thing. This is great. Like someone commented - this one is the truth :D

I remember watching these commercials in Jersey during the 70's. They were classic. The Money Store commercials were memorable too.

I was very pleasantly surprised this episode. I was not a Sandler fan, but this episode was really good.

Yes on both counts. Hate everything about his movies that I've ever seen, but he was great on this episode of SNL.

I m a tour operator for the American market and I can so relate to this. We once had a couple who told me on day 1 of the tour that they are going to get a divorce but this trip was their last ditch effort to reconcile, I was like, ooooook, this should be fun.

Went on a short vacation in Savannah with some friends recently. One of them had a complete meltdown and was confused thinking getting away from home for a while would fix everything. I showed him this video. I think he gets it now
