Well sure, people that age were forced to be nude around their peers by being made to shower after gym class. They hated it for the first 2 days, then were totally comfortable after that and were guaranteed an entire lifetime of freedom from body image paranoia. Couldn't let later generations have that! Deep-seated lifelong neuroticism and crippling fear and inability to see themselves as anything other than deformed freaks due to zero visceral experience with real human bodies and their variety is a small price to pay to avoid those 2 days of mild discomfort!

So, as of the new season (49), the Please Don't Destroy guys aren't officially cast members, but they do have their own credit in the opening, like what they used to do with Robert Smigel's "TV Funhouse" cartoons. Not even Andy Samberg's Lonely Island videos got that treatment, and those were the videos that made The KZbin generation actually want to watch SNL.

SNL feels meaningful to me because Charlie talked about SNL a lot in "Perks of Being a Wallflower". I think it's so beautiful, Charlie would enjoy SNL in 80s or 90s, the author probably got to enjoy the show as a child in 70s, the show is in an old classic book and the show is still running, we still get to see it. This is so beautiful. This book means a lot to me.
