Y’all really don’t understand that’s something celebrities have to do. They laugh at jokes at their expense. Even when it hurts them. It’s automatic. It’s routine. Then he looked over and seen Jada wasn’t laughing. Seen she was hurt. Then a traumatic moment from his childhood came back. Where he wished he would have done something about his father hitting his mom. He felt like a coward because he didn’t defend her. So in a split second he goes this is my chance to avenge that. And stand up for the woman in my life. And the rest is history.

@@sincityquinn🙄 Stop defending him. He doesn't need you to defend him or his money. That same 'woman' went on to humiliate him further and claim they were never together. I pray that Will leaves her and finds peace, but I will not defend those actions.

@@ferallemur well explained. everyone says he saw Jada. if folks notice he didn't see her roll her eyes he was still laughing looking at Chris. so I wondered what was the actual trigger. no one that was there like Lupita or Chris or Jada or Will really said what happened between laughing and going up there. no footage. we assume he looked at her and then goes up there. but I wonder if as you say the line that was a nice one would trigger that response. thanks
@ferallemur
@ferallemur 2 жыл бұрын
@@mssarahrenee I would never compare myself to Chris Rock, but on a much much MUCH smaller level I am also an entertainer, and I also tell jokes, and sometimes those jokes land really, really badly. And everybody I know who tells jokes that cause hurt feelings knows the little head nod and hand wave that is the universal symbol for, "I see you, I know, my bad, let's be cool." That moment needed that gesture. It was a moment where an older comic would pull at his collar, groan, and say "tough room". There are a lot of ways to acknowledge that a joke didn't land the way you intended, and to bail out. Instead, Chris Rock hung in there, trying to salvage and stand by his joke. That's not to say he deserved to get slapped, but as I watch that clip, it's a long 10 seconds where I'm thinking, "Abort! Abort!!! Bail out of this joke! 25-year-old movie references aren't the hill to die on!"

There could so be a miniseries of it that airs before season one reruns of BEL AIR, and we'd all watch it like sick consumer pigzombies.

They could've went way over the top with this, and possibly made this one of the funniest skits ever. But because of the severity of the situation and people involved, they kept it funny but chill. 👏

Most accurate representation as to how nutty the incident was. Chris Redd had me dying. They didn’t hold back either. Can only imagine Will and Jadas reaction. 😂
