Tim Robinson is the greatest SNL cast member that only lasted one season

Not even close. I'm guessing you're too young to remember the 84-85 "all-star" cast with Billy Crystal, Christopher Guest, and Martin Short...not to mention Chris Elliott and David Koechner a decade later. Robinson may be a moderate success now...but he was just horrible on SNL. He's definitely in the bottom 10 or so of all time...but at least he's ahead of Jerry Minor and Rob Riggle!!

@@axelkyster2642 Yeah, this comment section is full of weird Tim Robinson stans who are trying to make his presence in comedy seem about 100,000x more impactful than it actually is. He's fine, some of his new stuff especially is funny. Detroiters was...okay at best. Lol this video has 1.5m views, there's like 300 SNL sketches with 8m+ views for a reason. While the majority isn't always right, there's definitely something to be said that this sketch is literally 1/10th as popular as hundreds of other SNL sketches. Humor is one of the few things where the majority just tends to get it right. This simply isn't that good and certainly isn't some good performance by Robinson. "moderate success" put it perfectly. Dudes propping him up to the level of Mikey Day or Bill Hader are out of their minds lol. But thats the beauty of youtube - take any outlandish, extremely minority rejected opinion, and you'll find a few thousands of people that'll make you feel validated over it, hence you can randomly blurt out nonsense like "Tim Robinson is the greatest SNL cast member that lasted only one season" and get 72 likes despite it being laughably wrong.

@@gibiati8295 Yep...all good. That's why I try not to use too many superlatives..."Kenan is the BEST CM ever!". Everybody's got an opinion, but somebody who says "Tim Meadows is as talented or as successful as Bill lMurray" will get an argument from me. All opinions are valid...but they're just opinions if you can't back it up... Also...these younger folks clearly don't know the history of the show...and don't care...and won't do their research...

This sketch is an example of something that was perfectly curated (either prior to, or just after) the concert where he played the initial demo of the track. Absolute lightning in a bottle- it is funny for those who have no clue about the song or who John Tesh is... but then every single element of context that references this is spot on. I mean the hammers was slapstick and an element that was not as relatable- but the overall balance is just spot on.
