SNL was like, how do we make this funny when it's already funny and decided they would go with not funny. Some writer somewhere was like we could have them find the poop, and then the other writer was like yeah, but should we actually make it funny? And the first writer says, not so funny but more of a funny-esque, we're talking about poop so that will work, we'll get that guy Keenan to be the one who comes in and over reacts to it too because he's silly. Funny-esque.

SNL, ACLU, Me Too, Feminist Groups all seem to want to ignore this one “exception” where a Man was actually abused until a Jury verdict?? It’s amazing at how stone cold dismissive of reality they are to fit a narrative that was so profitable. It’s not like admitting you were totally fooled by that one co actor in Pineapple Express. Not only did someone originally pitch the idea for this sketch, thinking it was funny, but then people also had to collectively decide that it was a good idea to make it happen. Some people worked to write it, and then some of them even decided to act it out in front of a live audience, and potentially to millions of others across the world. And they all said "Yes, this is a GOOD idea". That's the minimum of all the layers that sketch had to go through before it got to us.

Oh they probably watched it, and are spinning it for Amber, being just as deceitful as she was. They’re just trying to make it funny and failed. This ain’t funny, it’s pro-Heard propaganda spinning a false narrative. Her putting crap on his side of the bed when he asked for a divorce and smashing his finger off were only the tip of the iceberg of her abuse, and they’re trying to pretend even that was his fault..

Yeah. The TikTok voiceovers of people reenacting the dirty carpet scene with the jar of cocaine were funnier than this skit lol. SNL writers tried too hard not to offend Amber's side (had no problem portraying Johnny as a smarmy villain though, strangely) and it completely takes the humor out of it bc this trial is so iconic BECAUSE of how one sided it is and watching a pathological liar (Amber) at work. You can't just ride the "very fine people on both sides haha poop funny" punchline. In doing so, they made a mockery of the real victim, but were too scared to even cast someone to play the abuser.

I was neutral in the beginning, but now I believe Johnny. Amber’s story has way too many inconsistencies. She has ruined it for real domestic abuse victims by lying - setting back the movement against domestic violence.
@scourge8097
@scourge8097 2 жыл бұрын
@@completelyfascinating6981 I don't think that's the case at all. This hasn't ruined anything for domestic violence victims. It's simply shown that Men can be victims as well. If Amber Heard had called the police with the "broken nose," she claims, this would be a wrap. If she'd gone to the Hospital after an INCREDIBLY violent sexual assault, he'd be in prison(if it had happened). She lied, people found out about it, that's all that happened. This won't have any real impact on DV victims. It MAY give people a pause before they blindly believe a women in the midst of a divorce claiming that they've been abused...but they should question things. Plenty of Men have been accused of a lot of ugly things when divorces get ugly...including things like abusing their children. You shouldn't be able to just make a singular claim sans all evidence and ruin someone's life. Even that will continue because...most people can't imagine why you'd just make a story up.

When SNL gets it right, they really do, but this sketch was trash. I honestly wondered why they went with this case as a cold open. I’m not even sensitive about this case, there aren’t many ways to make it funny because this case has overly-exposed us all to personal details we never asked for, and it has been all we have seen. I think this is the first time a cold open made me roll my eyes and not bother with the rest of the show.

Unfortunately, SNL's track record for getting it right these days is abysmally inconsistent. It used to be mostly funny with an occasional dud, but the opposite has become true over the past 10 years... instead of being willing to deal with the duds for the gold, I find myself skipping the whole thing because it just isn't worth my time, sitting through 10 unfunny skits just to see 1 good one, and another that kind of makes me chuckle
