You see, the high school "cool guy," portrayed by Shane Gillis, didn't realize how immensely successful Forrest Gump had been in his life after high school. He asked, in an incredulous fashion, "Forrest? What's he been up to?" The response, "Actually, a lot," was funny, if you're familiar with the fictional character, Forrest Gump. Forrest had acomplished a tremendous amount after high school, beyond most folks' dreams, therefore the joke lands perfectly.

This guy is so fixed on the cue it's distracting. In most of his skits he seems like he's reading them for the first time - I think SNL dodged a bullet not casting him.
