Saturn Mars Aspects in Relationships(Synastry)

I just recorded this to share some of my astrology knowledge, just spontaneously, it's about Mars-Saturn aspects in synastry(interpersonal relationships). If you like it and would like to hear other descriptions of astrological aspects or placements, let me know.

With Saturn it’s not about ‘control’ (that’s Pluto) - with Saturn it’s more about order, discipline, structure and boundaries. With the person person interacting with the Saturn person it may feel like that but it’s not - you don’t know what ‘control’ is unless you have run into a person with heavy Pluto aspects. You’ll quickly learn the difference when that happens & may very well start respecting the Saturn aspects (as compared to Pluto) when that happens.

Boundary is a better term for Saturn than control. It’s weird but a lot of people mistake boundary as unfairness or someone being “mean”…. It’s actually there for safety or efficiency. Like when a scroogy father keeps the thermostat at a certain degree and won’t let the child turn it up because they are cold…. Saturn can do what is right, it just won’t be liked or enjoyed. Saturn: boundary restriction hold-fastness, Father Time. I’m just adding to your excellent comment. I agree control is more of a Pluto thing. Pluto also can be good for transforming and cleansing at a very deep level. It’s all about the aspects and governances.

I remember when i was agitated as i was asking when are we gonna get married isnt it wonderful now that we are happily married and in the best phase of our relationship so far and we are living in this beautiful house. I have Mars opposition Saturn going both ways where we’re both Mars & Saturn with my boyfriend along with a bunch of other hard Saturn aspects and although I really do love him, I’m wondering if maybe it’d be best to go our separate ways… I really feel so lost and sad right now bc of this. I had relationship 8years where my saturn oposssite his mars, disaster true, But we got a lot disharmony in synastry like my moon opposite his pluto, ours jupiters oposssite, ours venus square each other, both juno oposssite and more.This was long relationship more platonic without communication ony living in the same house.

Hello. Thanks :), am glad you like it. It means you are more comfortable with that energy and you appreciate it in synastry more. The conjunction is not the worst, I have seen very long term relationships with the conjunction. But the general Mars-Saturn energy is still felt. The best part of the conjunction in synastry is getting things done as a team. It can be great for a business partnership.

i have my saturn square my partners mars.. but I also have mars square saturn natally (we have the same mars sign) so would this be as harsh if i already have it natally? Wouldn’t I already of dealt with the friction within myself? Maybe it’s only him that feels it??

You're already familiar with this energy. However, nobody than you can tell if it's going to be as harsh as this aspect can be. It all depends on how you are handling your natal aspect. Saturn can be restrictive and defensive in a passive manner or in a more active way through criticism and harshness. When Saturn is balanced you will more likely express the wise and mature side of Saturn, as in a wise and loving parent. The other's Mars is triggering your Saturn. How your Saturn will react to this trigger depends on your individual expression of Saturn. If Mars triggers your wounds and insecurities and your Saturn isn't balanced out, you probably will reject Mars either with passive aggression or direct criticism. I have Mars Saturn conjunction natally and my Mars squares up with someone else's Saturn. No matter what I do, this person will reject me through ignorance and ghosting. And I know that just my presence is enough to evoke his insecurities and fears.

My saturn conj his mars in Sagittarius 4 degrees .an his saturn conj my mars.but my mars in scorpion. Mars square Saturn in synastry is bad I had this with a guy I talked to briefly. I was Saturn this aspect can indicate sexual incompatibility. I don't like the square at all but the trine is nice. I don't see how Mars square Saturn is binding when it's a terrible aspect. I think it's the soft aspects that are binding.

All Saturn aspects can be weirdly binding because Saturn represents things that develop over time.

I think it depends on whether you use western/tropical or vedic/Indian astrology tbh. Because in vedic, mars in cancer is debilitated (=very weak) and saturn rules capricorn (=comfortable) but if mars is in capricorn it’s exalted (=very strong) etc.
