first sauger me and my brothers-in-law caught, we took it all over the county trying to find anyone that knew what it was...back in the 70's...my best tech for catching them is to fish at night with a black grub on a 1/16th head on a #6 hook...Jan and Feb below lock and damn on the Arkansas River...thanks for showing me a new way to catch these good eating fish...just watch out for the pin bones...

Thanks for the video Richard Gene. Sauger's, walleye, Perch and Crappie are my top four fish to catch. I just love to eat them. I can not wait for ice out and the river to open up so I can get the boat out and go fishing. Here in Wisconsin there is no size limit for sauger,but the Walleye have to be 18 inches or bigger.Thank you again

Hey Richard! Man I love your show. I grew up fishing Lakes Barkley & Kentucky Lake in the 60's & 70's. So I really get excited when your on the Tennessee river even though I never went that far south. Anyway i never caught a yellow perch or even knew they were there. Maybe cause Daddy ne or fished for them but I'd love to see more about them as I go up now an again. Thanks Richard for what you do! I love fishing over on what we always call the “trash wall” when the waters moving a little for stripe bass. It’s spooky going up under the dam but I’ve done it fishing for big ole catfish. I don’t know how to catch fish anywhere other than around the dam really not that I’m as good as some people are that fish a lot around it. Great video and thanks for the great tips.

We have a hybrid here in OK called a saugeye (walleye/saugeye mix) but the minimum length limit here is 18" on many lakes. Talk about some fine eating, whew! Wish the minimum was 15" like yours.

Sauger,Northern Pike are of the Perch family and maybe Pickerel but not sure. Both are very good eating. The meat is very white like Walleye however. But like Northern Pike you need to know how to clean to get out the " Y " bones. Excellent fish. Glade to see there are a size limit. Maybe Richard will do a video on proper cleaning.

hey my friend i fish down the all the time i dont know if you have ever fished at the bluff down there ...but were you launch your boat if you go right instead of left and stay on the right side of the bank you will run into a bluff wall = slab crappie keep up the great work

Our dams here in IN are a cement dam and a huge vertical overflow tower. This one looks like you are fishing in a lock or something. Could you explain these walls that you are fishing?
