As for the discussion on the Palestinian use of the term "martyr", I'm reminded of the documentary Death in Gaza which was being filmed by the British filmmaker James Miller when the IDF shot him in the neck and killed him in 2003. In the film they discuss this very topic, and the narrator surmises that life and death are so far removed from Palestinian control that they have resorted to the psychological defense of viewing death as a reward given only to those most cherished and worthy. This really made me think.

The bombing has specifically targeted civilians and its there for everyone to see. Almost every house has been flattened in Gaza. And refugees? Israel could open ITS borders to refugees. This is the second of my all time favourite artists being interviewed by Abbey. 1st was Immortal Technique, now the most influential of Poets, not just slam, of my generation. I'm speaking from South Africa and so it's not an overstatement to say Saul had a mighty influence on the Poetry scene this side a decade back or so. I remember all slam poets in Johannesburg sounded like him LOL. For what it's worth, Abbey is a wonderful beautiful human being, Rebel and Journalist of these dire times. This is the 3rd time she got me on a serious trip speaking to people who where influential in shaping me at my younger age. Yeah, that one with Peter Jackson just took me to my early days of awakening when I watched Zeitgeist for 1st time. Peters voice was always distinct to me caz of the number of times I watched that marvellous doccie. Keep the Fayah Burning Abbey, we're are watching and we will meet you in the vanguard of the battle field as we fight for the soul of humanity.
