**The adult Dakotaraptor will not be able to climb in the final game, his model is just a placeholder while the animations for the young stages are completed. This is also why he looks too large for the tree, he is not supposed to be climbing it!

protocetid Well technically birds are extant dinosaurs, maybe when they see their ancient kin they'll grow large, gain teeth, functional arms, and a long bony tail.

Correction; bird actually *ARE* dinosaurs! Isn't it cool how dinosaurs are still alive today? Anyways, before you reply to me and say 'THERE DESCENDANTS,NOT ACTUAL DINOS' let me explain. We can all agree that birds are dinosaurs' direct descendants, right? Taxonomy (the study on how animals are related to one another) states that any direct descendants of a member of a group (in this case Dinosauria) are part of that group. Therefore, birds are dinosaurs, Humans are apes, and all vertebrates are highly evolved lobe-finned fish.

Aaron Wiley adults won't be able to, but baby's of other raptors have been shown to have tree climbing adaptions. so baby's and juvis in-game will be able to

actually there will be no night vision, but you will be able to have a "smell sense." The developer's haven't quite finished the mechanic but early representations showed it as an orange smoke.

Pretty much all life stages except the adults will be able to climb. The only reason we've seen adults climbing is because the models for the younger life stages haven't been completed yet.

It's currently planned for a Q1 2017 Early Access release on Steam. The full base game with all four 'core' playable dinosaurs and other features such as more A.I. species will probably take at least a several more months to complete, and then they're going to add in all of the stretch goals from their Kickstarter campaign, which will probably take at least a few more months to finish. All updates will be added incrementally.

***** No, that's not what I mean. You'll still start as a baby and have to grow up, it's just that the transitions between the different life stages (ontigimorphs) won't be smooth, i.e. gradual morphing from one model to the next. That'll come sometime later on.

I know this, there isn't a point in my original post where I implied the adults could My question is, is that, when the Dakotaraptor gets older, will it the harder or harder to climb until they clan't climb at all (smooth transition), or will it be a hard transition from being able to climb to straight up being unable to climb (hard transition)

It will be semi-smooth, mostly dictated by the types of trees you can climb. You'll find as a hatching you'll be able to climb most trees, as a juvenile slightly fewer, as a subadult only the largest trees and as an adult none at all.
