I’ve been trying to find a kolache recipe that actually looks like the ones in Houston! All I could find is essentially pigs in a blanket. I love the ‘strip’ aesthetic you have here. Can’t wait to make these to remind me of a Saturday morning breakfast in Houston!!

Is there a particular sausage that you recommend? I fell in love with these in Austin but I don't know what sausage is best or even similar.

I like the jalapeno cheese smoked sausage sold by HEB!

So you actually need 2 eggs if I'm understanding this correctly. One for the dough and the other to do the egg wash

Hi Robin Stone I learned how to make this bread shape by watching your video. It looks very soft and delicious. It ’s even better to put sausage inside👍

This was just begging for a sprinkle of poppy seeds, sesame seeds and flaky salt, after the egg wash. Can’t wait to try it out! 😀👍

Great instructional video! Trying this at home this weekend. Question, if you use different (cooked) fillings and/or add cheese, or even wrap them differently I'm guess its all the same cook times and everything? Thanks! I picked this vid because of how soft and fluffy you made yours look. :)
@CookingwithRobinStone2 жыл бұрын
I think so! I made it into a bear's paw shape and it was equally soft and fluffy :-)

There's a lot of people that don't use grams and I'm one of them I would appreciate it if you would include it in cup measurements although you do have an awesome video I have subscribed

Using grams in baking yields much more accurate results. One cup of flour will be a different amount of grams every single time, which means your results will vary every single time.
