Thanks, that was useful. You appear to have both rifles that I am considering: Savage A22 Precision and the Derya Arms TM22. Could you elaborate on which is more accurate and which is more reliable? Also, if you had to keep just one, which would it be? Thanks.

I haven't sat down and compared the accuracy between them but I would say the savage would be better for accuracy from shooting them both. They both seem to be reliable but the savage needs to be cleaned more for it to run well. the 10 round rotary mag the savage comes with runs well, but the 25 butler creek mags are hit and miss as the derya mags a 10 round will work the same as a 25 round mag. if I wanted to just go out and plink I would take the derya so I can run the 25 rounders with less issues, but If a magpie was a 100 yards away I would forsure take the savage. cleaner trigger break in the savage and adjustable. I guess its all on what kind of shooting your into. if you just want to mag dump into the bush id get the derya but if you want to sit and shoot past 50 or shoot poop filled birds id take the savage. for me id take the savage as it kinda what got me into to really liking firearms, I have a super high round count on the savage and it still runs good. they both are good guns and have them set up for different reasons. so its really what kind of setting you will be in.

@@prairiediseguns Thanks again. I sway towards the Savage for target practice, but they do seem to have feeding problems (possibly because of the bigger, clunkier bolt that appears to have been derived from the original 22 Magnum and A17) and it costs a bit more. The TM22 looks fun and more mobile and I like the way it's built, but I'm concerned about a couple things that you might be able to answer: 1) I'll be using a scope most likely and, as you mentioned in your TM22 review, I don't like that the rail and scope would have to come off for cleaning and would likely have to be re-zeroed each time after reassembly; and 2) the bolt appears to run in the aluminum body that is softer than the steel bolt, so logic would suggest it would experience more wear and a shorter life (although maybe that's not really an issue if maintained properly).

Well 22 is pretty finicky, I’ve switched to copper plated round nose in some of my 22 which helped a lot with feeding. Also not lubing the gun so much. But as for the Derya losing zero after disassembly I haven’t really noticed it. Mind you I haven’t sat down and tested it but from farting around with it I haven’t had to adjust my optic at all. The rail indexes on the receiver and holds it pretty well. As for the bolt I haven’t noticed any unusual wear. Im honestly not worry about it, it’s just a blowback and rides on a guide rod with a brass socket. Proper cleaning and lubrication, and it shouldn’t be an issue. The Derya is definitely a better gun to move with but savage is a pretty well known company and Derya seems to be well built and functions really well but Turkish guns are usually iffy from my experiences. I think the tm22 might be the exception.
