That is why i have scopes on all my rifles, Federals are better than Winchesters

To anyone out there contemplating buying a savage mark 11 , be aware the customer service is terrible, I had accuracy issues requiring me to send it it for warranty service as it was a brand new rifle with only 300 to 400 rounds trough it, with accuracy around 2 moa . I savage received the rifle on Nov 15 2023 and as of 1 19 2024 it’s still at Savage repair shop. They said it needed a new barrel, my question is when did they determine that . It’s sad when Savage can’t even answer an email . If you’re thinking of getting one , save yourself some trouble and just don’t! The quality control sucks as well. Pic rail was lose out of the box. And the stock is thin plastic with no cheek riser, if you put a scope on it you can’t shoot it comfortably with out a cheek rest . Wish I had never bought it

You can really see the difference in not having the scope. My 64 is grouping under an inch at 50. They really are a great little gun, and I love the accuracy of them. However, I do know the Mark II is a much more accurate gun.

@@Outdoorsunscriptedhow is the accuracy comparison? Scoped 64f vs scoped mark 2?
@pnotuner1 Жыл бұрын
It's not a contest of the guns, it's a contest of the triggers, which is no contest.

Definitely a big difference between the two triggers

Bed the action on that mark II and you will be surprised how much the accuracy improves. Bedding a 22lr was the furthest thing from my mind until I noticed the action was really shiny where it mounted to the wood.

Thanks I might give that a try.

If doing a accuracy review and you only have one scope, why not put it on the least accurate .22?
@justanobserver530 Жыл бұрын
I wish this was a better comparison ie both with scopes. I am not a youtube creator but I would love to compare my savage 93r17 to my savage A17, which I have not done myself yet. I know they are close enough accuracy wise but you always have good and bad days and I've never had both out at the same time. My best groups have definitely been with the 93R17 however and I suspect that a side by side would prove the 93 more accurate. I don't have a 64 but I do have a pre acutrigger mark II 22lr that is a tack driver. I don't remember what it shoots best but I know everything except CCI stingers are minute of squirrel. The only 22lr rifle I have that's accurate with stingers is my marlin 39A, that I rarely get out.

There might not be as many accessories available like the 10/22 but they are great. Especially since they cost less than half of a 10/22.

I currently have 4 savage MKII rifles varying from a plain G model all the way to the TRR-SR and open sights to a ridiculous scope on the TRR 😂. I also have a 1960s Lakefield MKII. As far as Model 64s I have 2, a 64B from the 1960s... this was my first rifle as a kid. It was my grandfather's before he gave it to me. It still shoots lights out. 2years ago I bought a new M64 same as yours and have just a cheap scope on it. It will do bug eye groups at 25m and nickel sized groups at 50m right now with only about 200 rounds through it. M64s need to be broke in a fair amount. A couple BRICKS and they really slick up, also DO NOT USE OIL ON THE BOLT. Just use a graphite lube on it (wet application graphite is fine just make sure the carrier is fully evaporated before firing). Good luck and I look forward to more testing and videos
@Outdoorsunscripted Жыл бұрын
Hey yeah I noticed that using oil on the bolt really makes it sticky to the point where doesn’t even function in the winter time. I put a scope on my 64 now so I’ll do another test in it

We absolutely can. Rules are a bit more strict and handguns cannot be bought and sold under current tyrannical rule but we can own long guns.

I quit using winchester ammo after my son had a 270 round split down the casing during firing and had to be hammered out of the barrel.
