I’ve seen this story on ID discovery “ I shouldn’t be alive”. What a harrowing story.

I definitely wouldn't have cared who the people on the ship that rescued me were either. That's a HORRIBLE situation.

This is confusing because most of the time I hear that a shark will take a test bite and then spit you out when they realize you aren’t food. I know they can cause incredible injuries just by taking a chunk of flesh out but I didn’t realize they’d swallow you whole!
@SHAWNEESKYWALKERАй бұрын
Sharks, especially certain species will take one bite, swim away (not far) wait for you to bleed out and weaken, sometimes die before they come back and start feeding on you. One bite, yes, some people have been swallowed whole. Some bit in half and eaten. Some have been eaten piece by piece. What they fail to tell you is that in the cases of survivors, there were other people there who were able to get them out of the water. How many cases have you heard of when only 1 person was present, they got bit by a shark and managed to safely get away from the shark, and get to land and to a hospital by themselves ?
@3six967Ай бұрын
You should look into WW2, pacific theater Navy stories. Ive heard some gut wrenching accounts of masses of sharks in a feeding frenzy in that regard.
@lisaprice3146Ай бұрын
@@SHAWNEESKYWALKER that makes sense.
@CarlAnderson-t8uАй бұрын
@@SHAWNEESKYWALKER that is true because we are not on the everyday menu. However, there are exceptions to this rule. We Are on the menu for bull sharks and sometimes the tiger. Oceanic white tipped sharks which are responsible for these feeding frenzies will devour anything that bleeds. And finally, any animal that is hungry will make exceptions

Sharks were blamed for the deaths of sailors after the USS Indianapolis was sank but tragically it was mostly drinking saltwater that killed them.

Look into WW2 Pacific Navy Stories of ships that sunk and what the survivors of the sinking went thru w sharks. I dont know what it is about the species, but ive seen videos of hammerheads where there are easily hundreds in a pod, pack, whatever a group of sharks is called. A "horror"?
