As long as the player plays well enough to get paid more in his next deal they don’t care much if they win or not. Don’t get me wrong they wanna beat the man across from them because they are competitive but an individual win is more lucrative than a team win. It’s all about the dollar.

I feel like it had been really bad ever since the early and mid 2000s rushing boom, when it seemed like every year a running back could hit 20tds and 1500 yards. It’s like after the TO and Ocho Cinco celebration era, everyone wanted to be that guy. Desean Jackson style bonehead plays and Khalil Mack. It’s crazy to see guys celebrating a sack or a first down when they are down 3 scores too. It’s just all over the place today and hopefully can get back to a better place. Steve Harvey explained it pretty well of all ppl lol.

This is exactly why I HATE touchdown celebrations. It encourages self-glorification and focusing on the wrong thing. The point of football is not to score a touchdown, it's to have more points on the board than your opponent when the clock hits 0:00. That's when you celebrate. What's next, celebrating after every first down? Celebrating after ever 4-yard gain? Celebrating after getting off a punt successfully? Because these morons just can't wait to do whatever stupid TD celebration that they've rehearsed for weeks, while they're heading toward the end zone, they're thinking, "Oh yeah! Now I'm gonna get to do that thing that is gonna get me on SportsCenter highlights and make me look really awesome!"....and their mind is not focused on the job at hand. And then that lapse in concentration gets punished. And then all of their teammates get punished because of their selfish, glory-seeking stupidity. And don't give me that crap about players just wanting to have fun. Have all the fun you want....after you win the game. Anything that jeopardizes the team goal is worthless. Watch Barry Sanders after he scored. Or Marvin Harrison. Or Jim Brown. Or Franco Harris. Are you going to tell me that those guys weren't having any fun? None of them did that crap after scoring. You wanna dance and say, "Hey everybody, look at me!"....go on Dancing With the Stars. You wanna play football? Keep you head in the game and celebrate your brains out after you actually win.

I remember seeing a one where it was such a memorable "celebrating too early" moment. Don't remember what teams it was but they had a big game winning moment, but I think it was fumble but they really thought it was a game win that they even had all the people out in the middle of the field shaking hands and such....but the game isn't over. The person who had the ball is trying to get through the crowd so he can score the TD. It was just so crazy I can't find it.
