@@Basedhistoryenjoyer and @Zzlnox If you score a goal in a cricket game I think everyone is going to be confused lol :-p I *think* you mean, jello, meansyou were 'bowled' (what it is called when the bowler bowls the ball and it hits your wicket). But nothing makes a lot of sense, the best I can summise is: You were bowled after leaving a ball you thought was a no-ball, and then you hung your head in shame, but your team were award the "run" due to it being a no-ball. However, that doesn't explain why you hung your head as you thought it was a no-ball, and it was a no ball?! Unless it was a no ball because over waist height (without bouncing) and thus you were given out by the umpire at the bowlers end, but the square leg umpire over-ruled it as it's that umpires job to judge height related no-balls. Just a theory. Can you help out with any more context? Was this regular cricket, or was it "French Cricket" or one of the variations like where there is one batsman, a circular wicket, 1 ball, 4 bowlers each at a right angle to each other, and it's tippany run (if you hit it, you must run)? There a many variations on cricket that have rules made up specifically to make it a more physically demanding and faster paced game as a regular game of cricket is pretty boring to people who aren't "in" to it. In fact, that's why I like Indoor cricket and 20/20 so much due to the players going fast and hard straight away, rather than taking their time and playing slow-n-steady....

My high school cross country coach drilled into us every practice not to stop running until we were past the finish line. His strategy was to sprint as far up in the pack as you can at the start, find a workable pace, and as soon as you saw the finish line, you run with everything you have left in you and blast right through the line, don't even think about slowing down until you're at least 5 paces past it. He'd also say if you had enough energy to celebrate after then you didn't run hard enough. The races were 2 mile tracks and for practice we had to run 2 miles down the road to our competing highschool (their grounds had their own fixed course) run that 2 mile course, then turn around and run back to our school. We were just lucky it was 2 miles straight down the same road. They would pace us in their pick up with cups of ice to chew on along the way. Good times!
