@@papa_pt Current X1 is a rebodied Mini Countryman. Previous gen was effectively a stretched (and taller) 1 series. Ours has been dead-nuts reliable. There can be problems with the timing chain tensioners in the 4 cyl, but BMW has agreed to extend the warranty on those engines to cover that. The most reliable/cheapest to maintain car we ever owned was a 2nd gen Civic. Our E39 chassis 530 was a very close 2nd. We put over 100k miles on that, and the only expense was replacing a window seal (2 hours of my time and $35). Least reliable/most expensive to keep running? @_Makanko_2 жыл бұрын
I think the issue is usually not with the audio system brand but rather how the car manufacturers build the system into their cars. A list might be difficult and they usually just state whether it's better to pay more for the "premium" sound upgrade or not. I think before they can make a list on the better audio system you would have to categorise them based on price and use case first. It's not a bad idea, I think it might be a good thing to ask on one of their live Q&A's.

This is something I've wondered as well. It looks like use technical stats as well as subjective measures to determine which stereos are good and which ones are bad. Someone above commented they might not be ready to spill the beans who has the worst system out there. However, I think they could do this in a tasteful, non-disparaging way. Besides, these brands need to know that there are a lot of us out here who really do care about the audio system in a vehicle, no matter what kind of vehicle it is. Do it! Do it! Do it!

Although I would prefer absolute rotary knobs for temperature and wind blowing speed. And there is at least one button missing: close air circulation. Yesterday I was driving and I had to use multiple times. Luckily my "old" car has physical button and when I see some oil burning car or people burning branches/leaves I can quickly turn incar air circulation. Imagine the hassle of using a touch screen implementation that is nowadays being forgotten about as we do not need to close air circulation since we are going "environment friendly"/no exhaust electric cars.

It's not even difficult if you WANT to make it sound exciting. Usually it is legal restrictions that make it tricky. Cars like this might fall under certain 'easings' of the rules, or maybe not even that but buyers don't take issue with a loud engine and/or exhaust. Plus, the engineers know all the emissions hoops and tricks, so they can make an engine with sharp cams that sounds aggressive and revs high that still meets emissions standards. ... One of those 'tricks' is to have a shitton of money in the budget.
