Where I live it's mainly sunny and dry and only wet over winter, no snow, might be better suited in a dryer climate vs say UK. I've heard injectors sometimes need to be replaced? I want to buy say a 2016 model with about 60,000km so I can afford it and also want the louder exhaust as well as the original headlight design, which gives it a timeless vintage James Bond sports car look....other than potential issues I've heard about the car, im obsessed with getting one in black, took one for a test drive the other day and its just a mosnter

As an Ex 2015 R owner: I fucking love this car, will definitely buy another one in a few years. Switch wheels and tires to SVR spec, and add PS4S (265F, 305R) and it will be a canyon carver and a great daily driver. Just won’t be your track car. Also the seats are awesome for less than 2 hours.. after that they start wearing you down. Try to get one with the fixed glass roof, its effective in making it airy. I’d pick one up for 45K and save another 10 for the wheel-tire & paint protection. Warming up the engine properly = reliability 👍🏼

Virtually everyone agrees that on-track, it'll lose out to more serious performance cars such as BMW M's and Porsches, yet it's really apples and oranges to compare them. I own a 2015 F-Type that I purchased at CarMax for less than $50,000. The car has less than 21,000 miles on it and it's a blast to drive. I couldn't be happier with the F-Type. And it's nice to drive a car every day that doesn't look like every other car in the world.

Wow, that's a future collectible for sure! Sounds like the V6 with super charger and manual might be the perfect drivers pick!

Great review. I would tempted to find one of these if I didn't already buy a brand new 2020 Bullitt. I think it is just as much fun, plus it's brand new with a full warranty. It has a lot of the same qualities you are talking about. I drive a 2018 F150 as my daily driver for my business. Bullitt is my toy for after work hours. Love it!

What they glossed over is the look - sound system, infotainment, engine, suspension, steering aside, the look is timeless.

There was a software update in the older models that would eliminate some exhaust burbles so some owners didn’t update their infotainment as a result.

Such a great looking car and what a sound. I'd be worried about the running cost of this still but I think it's nicer the the Lexus (though the Lexus looks a bit more special) Thanks to the owner for letting the guys use this and have Jack gushing and giggling.

@Ian TB coyote derived V8, ZF transmission, I think the F-Type is more reliable than most people think, short of the rust from Tata cheaping out on the steel
@markmiller32794 жыл бұрын
It isn't as bad as all that. The drivetrain is not especially exotic, and Jag's traditional electrical problems were largely banished in the Ford years. I'd worry more about the crappy interior bits and pieces breaking than anything major happening.

My friend has an F-Type V6S. It is a fantastic car. He tracks, autocrosses, and extreme street drives it. I have driven it several times and it is such a beast. The comment you made about "You wouldn't track this car" couldn't be further from the truth. While being a heavy GT car, they handle exceptionally well. His best friend owns a GT350 and they are always back and forth on their lap times.

Amazing car, I remember getting the awesome opportunity to ride in a 2016 F-Type R coupe during the 2016 Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix. They had two of these as pace cars and the race manager was amazing and let me ride with the driver for a hot lap leading the 2-liter+ class (911/BMW 2002 etc) to the green flag. Driver turned off traction control and we got to do similar acceleration to this around Pittsburgh’s Schenley park 😂

Loved this car since it came out ... maybe it's because I love the Aston Martin Vantage so much. The F-Type has lines that will always be in-style and age extremely well.
