@alexander1485 Certainly they are up for derision, but the Murano is so meme-able (taking styling cues from the 90s) so obviously terrible to anyone who has ever turned a wrench ( and at the same time so desirable for the clueless), that it's really in a class by itself. It's in Pinto territory (dangerous AND ugly) while the Evoque (though even more expensive) is merely overpriced junk with an attractive shell (on par with AMC products, for example). The Evoque is too attractive, IMHO.

This is a true story. I am a psychiatrist, and during my residency my program director told us a story about his neighbor, who also happened to be a physician. The neighbor was making a lot of purchases, sold their car, and bought multiple vehicles, one of which was a Nissan Murano. There were other changes noted to his behavior, and ultimately he was diagnosed as having a manic episode. He was admitted to the hospital, treated with lithium, and got better. After recovering, he sold the Murano.

Tongue in cheek as this is. It really does highlight a particular aspect of automotive enthusia that is hardly quantifiable with what the car can do for you. Regardless of 0-60 times or how reliable stuff is. Sometimes we as enthusiasts just like it. Essentially this car is such a joke and worthless to the masses. Yet we find joy with it, we find a common ground to have fun and live life and make memories. And such a oddly weird thing to experience about a cross cab. But I can relate in a few ways. What a novel car. What a stupidly quirky novel car. I'm glad I could be here and entertained by it.

It's definitely far more synthetic and fake than a really good gamer steering wheel. But. This thing has had literally no issues, i mean completely none existing of any pre mature failures of any part of the car, never got any use out of the extended warranty since nothing at alll has ever gone wrong with it.
