Just saw the Savages live tonight. In the past 8 months or so, I've see the Deftones, Incubus, Tool, and countless other acts and local KC bands. But this band has got me. The best live show I've seen since I can remember. I haven't been so excited about Rock and Roll music or a "new" band since I was in high school (over 12 years ago). If rock was ever dead, then to life they've brought it back. 4 people 4 instruments. No DJ, No synth, no choir, no brass, just pure rock and Roll.

This is one of their best songs.. period! Where it might not have the immediate in-your-face impact as some of their earlier work, this song makes up for it in its ability to captivate with its strong dramatic ending.. it makes the silent moments even more profound. the song grew on me with every listen. This is Quality song writing and musical composition at its best. EXCELLENT WORK!

Fucking hell! The thing that grabbed me and crushed down hard was how that line "I adore life." was presented not as a statement, but as a goddamn challenge. A challenge both in the sense of "I adore life, and nothing you assholes do will change that" and in the explicit call to arms at the end for us to join her in that adoration. Fan-fucking-tastic. The very embodiment of Lydon's 'Anger is an energy' used for positive good.
@bleudeprusse7 жыл бұрын
You're absolutely right. This is a fucking challenge for the speaker and a hell of a call to all the dreamers in this world who are ready to embrace life in its pain, joy, misery and rebirth. This is life changing. This is like a big scream waiting to get out and becomes alive.

If only I didn't want the world I wouldn't make you feel so sad I'm sure my shame would be gone Is it human to adore life? If only I'd hidden my lust And starved a little bit more If only I didn't ask for more Is it human to adore life? I adore life If only I'd lived beyond regret I wouldn't feel guilt for what I take Is it human to ask for more? Is it human to adore life? I know evil when I see it I know good and I just do it If I hadn't been so starved Is it human to adore life? I understand the urgency of life In the distance there is truth which cuts like a knife Maybe I will die maybe tomorrow so I need to say I adore life If only I had been more shy And hid every tear I cried If only I didn't wish to die Is it human to adore life? If only I didn't care so much For the feel of your cold, cold touch In every bed I leave behind Is it human to adore life? I understand the urgency of life In the distance there is truth which cuts like a knife Maybe I will die maybe tomorrow so I need to say I adore life I adore life Do you adore life?
