I love my Volkodav, he is a great addition to our family and does listen to commands on a mostly regular basis. He guards the house and the yard depending on where his kitties and humans are. We have coyotes here but he is still a bit young and without other dogs like himself to help him guard. He enjoys running our large acreage with horses.

Great video, love how you focus on this breed and prefer raising awareness over just promoting the Volkodav. No need to feel uncertain without your big brother haha, just do your own thing. One question remains for me. How do they -or can they- function within a pack of dogs, be it with the same or the opposite sex?
@SavaskiBros3 ай бұрын
Thank you for the kind words ☺️, as for the question , they work great in packs and you often will find them in packs. They can get along regardless of sex, and they determine a ranking between themselves in the pack

Why do the owners tie them up? Do they release them at night or are they always tied?
@SavaskiBros3 ай бұрын
Good question . It is mixed for each individual owner. Some will tie some at day and release at night to work, some do opposite. Some do this to prevent dog getting out and causing harm slash getting hurt from other dogs, human etc. Also it strengthens the dog up when on these chains as they have space to run around on it whilst having the tension and pull back of the chain

Thank you very much for the video, It's nice, although I feel like it's not as informative as, the video of the Kangal. I think it's because you didn't share your a lot of the things you experienced, when you guys owned Barbosa. And yeah Seb, you were nervous because of the camera, don't worry a few more videos on your own, and you should become more comfortable. Also I prefer if you did the videos with your brother, not because your nervousness, but because two heads are better than one. I think you remember some things, that he does not remember, and he remembers some things that you don't remember. For instance When you made the video of the Kangal, you Seb, spoke about the Kangal's poop, and your brother, did not remember that. Also when you record the videos together, it is like you guys are having a conversation. Which is enjoyable. Now the videos I am anticipating, are the ones of the Akbash and Central Asian Shepherd, please record them soon, thanks in advance. Once again thanks for the video, and great job 👍🏾 PS: I don't mind seeing more Volkodav related content. 😁

Can people have these dogs in urban environments?
@SavaskiBros3 ай бұрын

@@SavaskiBros ok...I had to ask... Ok once had a Bully Kutta in an urban environment....it did not work out. I should have paid attention to the fact that most of the people who have these types of dogs(BK, Volkadacs, Cao, Alibais, ECT) live in rural environments.

@@edibalian id caution against that because you don't know the dogs there, if the volkodov puppy gets attacked by a strange dog for example (it could happen) then that will make any aggression worse. better to socialize with dogs you know are well behaved if possible, in my opinion

Volkodav is not a bread. Its a name and a function wolf 🐺 crusher. It can be nagazi, Caucasian ovcharka, tobet, gamper, alabai , cao, etc etc so that is the truth. Also every dog can be trained. And need to be trained. But in a different way and in a different function.

@@SavaskiBros this breed is not a real breed its a a function of several different types of lgd breeds that are a variants of the same kind of breed. The volkodav variant is more tall legged and has more game drive. And has more dog aggression cos they are mostly used for dogfighting tournaments. So they need to perform in the same way.
