Honest question: what is the difference between savate and kickboxing?
@S.Valentine4 жыл бұрын
I would say Savate rely more on speed and short but precise combos than traditional Kickboxing.
@mehdiberthet-bondet72944 жыл бұрын
Savate is french kickboxing. We have shoes and strike with foot only in legs work (no shine or knee). Kick will be armed. And... our clothes are gay friendly 🤣😂😭😂🤣

At first I was like "how does it differ from kickboxing?" But now I get it. They wear shoes. Take off your shoes and it's literally kickboxing.

Savate was created in the 19th century by french and italian sailors and it was used in street fight ... Why fighting without shoes when you wear shoes and more especially .... rangers or timberland type of shoes (the kind of shoes people had until after wwII as sneakers came after)??? Would you prefere to receive doc martens shoes hits or front bone hits? Make your choice? The "chausson" (the shoes used to fight in savate nowadays) was created to allow french boxing training and to avoid to have the fighters too quickly wounded and unabled to walk ...

Savate borrowed some elements from Chinese kung fu.

seems very ineffective, try these weak kicks vs a real fighter, youre floored in seconds getting pummeled

@Riviere Marc i've taken enough kicks in my life to know i can take a few until closing distance. and then you're DONE.
@nobullshitkickboxing56034 жыл бұрын
@Riviere Marc actually Pennachio didn't win because of his kicks power, he won because he was good at hitting without being hit, moving a lot and scoring points, that's BF style and it's all good. Dekkers was totally unable to close the distance. But talking about kicking only, Dekkers roundhouses were way more effective, obviously...
@nobullshitkickboxing56034 жыл бұрын
@Riviere Marc no need to wathch competition, there's already plenty of awesome savate KO highlights on youtube (but don't forget they use shoes)! Pennachio is a fighting genius I totally agree, as well as his kicks are effective and powerful (more with shoes than without, obviously). I didn't even deny all of that. I like Savate very much. What I'm saying is just that: one Dekkers roundhouse middle kick delivers more power than one Pennachio kick. Youcan see that just by watching the vid: Pennachio handles Dekkers kicks very hardly and become soon very careful not to take some more. I would like to hear what Pennachio has to say about Dekker's kicks. Remember: I don't deny Penachio's talent or Savate effectiveness, I'm just talking about the kick.
