When I was shopping for my daughter’s birthday presents I used that question “where is this going to go?” We just downsized in homes and I don’t want the house to overflow 💗 I love buying craft kits and supplies for this reason, use it enjoy it and throw it away haha

We have such a small house and I love it!! Keeps me very aware of what I bring in this little abode! 😂 Happy birthday to your daughter- I bet she had an amazing day! 🎂

When I try to justify buying something "because it's on sale", my husband likes to remind me that "it's not a sale if you weren't going to buy it anyway." 🙃 Having a rational husband can be annoying at times.

Hello Jenn. I like the no drive through, plus in the cart. I know that there are some things I do need but i have to wait until I have saved for them.

Yes- same here. I used to just buy whatever was on my mind. Now, I really think about it and 90% of the time- I don’t end up buying.

Going through Beryl and losing our electricity for 3 days (when it was only a Category1) was ridiculous. Still, I cannot bite the bullet and buy a crazy expensive generator. Have you thought about a generator just strong enough to keep your refrigerator going and maybe cooling for one room? I am exploring options too!! Thanks for this video, Jenn!!
@2SisterBees4 ай бұрын
You read our minds - that’s exactly what we said. One bedroom with a portable AC unit so Uhtred doesn’t get overheated and our fridge. Everything else - we can survive. 💛 I’m glad you are doing okay now and have your power back on. ⚡️
@brendaplans19924 ай бұрын
@@2SisterBeesI totally agree with this. So, do you have a window unit or will you have one just to install in the event of no power? We don’t have any but it would surely work.
@brendaplans19924 ай бұрын
Oh wait, you said portable AC unit - is that a window unit or is that something for inside? Sorry I’m picking your brain today. 😊
@2SisterBees3 ай бұрын
@@brendaplans1992it is a little unit that is on wheels. It has a hose that you attach to the back and then out the window. We used them in the RV. Little life savers - is what they are! But that will be perfect for this situation. They are at Home Depot. If you type “portable AC” you’ll see them.
@alicesmith71804 ай бұрын
Power was out for us for a week, however a $1000 generator worked just fine and beat the $20k generator price. Something to think about!
@2SisterBees4 ай бұрын
Yes- we found a much cheaper one. We also already have a portable AC unit from the RV so we can plug that into it and keep one bedroom cool for Uhtred. The whole house - of course, sounds great but I’d like to keep my savings 😂

Hey there Beeee sisters! I have been watching but not commenting cuz I was watching on TV. Your guidance become reaffirming as I start year 2 in September and have been following you from my beginning. Guess what? I got a part time job.....and it is my dream job....at a Hallmark Store.....and I am putting most of the money from it toward savings and debt payoff. You have always said.....sometimes you need to just make a little more money! So I am doing that and so far....it is WORKING! Love you guys!

Great video! I have a 900 sq ft house too. You did save a lot creating your own storage. I went to a hotel clear-out place and bought four 32"w x 7'h x 16"d armoirs, $100 ea with $100 delivery. Painted them black, then put shelving in all 4, two are pantries (because there was no place to put food) and the other 2 are craft/office storage. ***For my challenge, I'm doing a "no-spend" August. I've had a cart going for over a week so I'll purchase it today, but nothing until Sept 1. Also thank you for the free challenges you offer. I have them printed and will put them to good use!

" The time you spend at your job to pay for an item" I have used this philosophy, but in a different way depending on how much the item is and how long that item will last. It's lifespan, so to say in my life, if it is more than a dollar a day, is it worth it? How I used to ask myself. And for me, this would work, because sometimes it wasn't worth the investment for a short-term joy, than a long-term useful item/joy.

I think you might be mischaracterizing budgeting. You dont have to account for every penny to budget but you have to run some numbers to know what is available to save otherwise you just end up borrowing from yourself.
@2SisterBees3 ай бұрын
I follow Dave Ramsey’s zero based budget so I actually do account for every dollar - however, there are so many ways to budget. It’s just a way for someone to be highly aware of their finances, which we all should be ( no matter how we do it) since we work so hard. 💛
@lethiapage47673 ай бұрын
@@2SisterBees I get that but at the beginning of the video you seem to set up your method as an alternative TO budgeting when really it is an alternative way OF budgeting. Maybe I'm overthinking it. It seems a little weird to teach a budgeting method and deliberately not refer to it as such. You might have said...if traditional budgets aren't working for you try this way. You want to draw in people by expanding their idea of what budgets are and how they can be done. That was my whole reason for saying something. Lots of people think a budget has to be perfect and precise, written down in a ledger someplace. They think you have to be really good at math and math scares a lot of people. But anytime you look at what's coming in and what's going out, and make a spending plan you are budgeting.
