How did things go?
@kennieloo6357
@kennieloo6357 8 ай бұрын
All of this can be intuitive. Don’t rely so much on “knowing” your baby’s station to figure out which poses to move through. MOVEMENT is good. Having these tools in the back of your mind is helpful. Just don’t get so stuck on “how low is my baby and what did that gal say to do at this point?” Just tune into your body. Feel your way through labor. Your body was made for this so just listen to what it needs. You don’t need cervical checks. Baby is going to be coming down and out, and the more you pause to check and stress about how far you have or haven’t made it, the less tuning in you’re doing, the less you can just do what your body needs when it tells you in the moment.

I@@jannahmuslimah that's also how I gave birth to my daughter and I had a beautiful experience. I stayed active and moving a lot during most active labor, then broke the waters, asked my doula to fill the bath and went into it to push her out. I just obeyed my body and felt like I had to do that on all fours. It took only 2.5 hours total, and natural birth helps having an easier postpartum period, too! I wish you a wonderful birthing! Me too. My daughter’s heat rate was irregular and they had to do emergency surgery. I couldn’t do Lamaze because the nurse put an oxygen mask on me. The mask had a bag on it and every time I breathed in the bag would collapse and not fill back up with air. It made it harder to manage pain. Then her heart rate dropped and they took me to surgery.

@@tonigoodley6283Ou good news💗thank you. I recommend you go to a chiropractor. If you have blocked SI joint / lumbar spine you will have trouble giving birth and even the baby might not turn. I'm 27 weeks. And just come from my chiropractor and massage therapy. I also had problems breathing and thought it was just my belly, but even my ribs were blocked! My whole spine got re-aligned and I feel great again. I'm determined to stay healthy. Fortunately I have the money 😊 It's crazy how big our belly gets🤪 i would never have imagined looking like that😅 but it will keep growing. Oh and if you have a scarf/cloth to bind the baby to your body you can also use it to support your belly during late pregnancy. I have a video for you... it is in German, but you'll see what I mean 😘❤

If it's safe for you, tell them otherwise. Giving birth on your back is one of the most unsafe and painful positions for you and baby, you are working against gravity. If it's safe for you and baby's health, stay up and moving, maybe water birth to ease the pain. Most doctors just want you on your back out of convenience for them.

@kellylandefeld2636
@kellylandefeld2636 5 ай бұрын
During a pre-natal visit, a rotating physician told my mom and I something that neither of us could ever correctly quote again about my baby's head in my pelvis. He said something about how it was "engaged at negative one" but that "it was perfectly fine" when asked. I told him that I have Ehler Danlos Syndrome (it leads to weak connective tissues), and again "perfectly fine". He told me that I should be fine to make it to my due date in 6 weeks, but ended up having my baby the following week. (She's 17yrs old now! Its ok!) But it seems from viewing your post that I was quite naive. Also, I am wonder about t the "braxton hicks" that I had been suffering for few days prior to my appointment. Next question, when I delivered her, my normal physician showed me the placenta. It was quite obvious where the healthy half ended compared to the part that had detached from the uterine wall at some point. Would you guess these things are Ehler Danlos connective tissue related? (I am the mom of girls, and some have inherited my charm.)

I had 3 babies naturally, out of hospital and only ever had my cervix checked once, it with my first because labor was progressing so fast she couldn’t believe it. At that point I was in labor about 2 hrs and the midwife told me I was 8 cm dilated but never mentioned the baby’s station. If you listen to your body with what feels good and stay mostly upright, you will often find yourself mixing up your positioning, getting on all fours, leaning and swaying hips etc without really thinking much about it. It definitely helps to review these positions and information on getting baby engaged in case there ever comes a point when labor seems to slow down or you want to speed things up.

Hi any positions to help with lying down for dilation and labour? My hospital might only allow for lying down and no squats or all fours are allowed...
@lovejoy_23
@lovejoy_23 Жыл бұрын
Lying down is not usually recommended to help labor progress. It’s better to be upright and leaning forward to keep the pressure above the cervix and help with faster dilation. An alternative position in the hospital bed, would be to raise the back upright, turn around with knees on the bed and rest your arms on the top edge. A pillow could also be used in this situation to add comfort to rest your arms and head on. This should look similar to how women use the toilet as a “dilation station“ sitting in reverse to labor.
