May I suggest you do a complete rear hub cleaning/regreasing by taking it out of the swingarm. An important maintenance procedure which you havent done on the Multi. It is also a good idea to remove the lower shock absorber bolt and clean,regrease+ anti seize or acf50 all around that area. If the time comes it can be a TOTAL nightmare to remove it when it is seized. It is smart to do this "bolt" service once a year, basically on all modern ducati bikes with a single sided swingarm

That would be an awesome video!! They claim to be non-serviceable but the bearings are available & you can rebuild the rear hub! There are articles on the forums.

Yes indeed "getting the bolt holes to line up" at 5:30 is important. Do take care as the receiving bolt holes in the airbox body are a softer metal than normal (brass?). The frame is in the way if you are using an Allen driver on an extension bar as in the video, so it is super easy to cross-thread if you are not careful. Ask me how I know ;-) Great video in a great series. 2009 848 owner in Japan with MOSFET rectifier mod as guided by your other videos. Thanks!

I think I would prefer the filtering quality of the K&N filter over the pods. Anything thought to just sealing the ends of the filter into the ram air tubes using RTV directly on the rubber ends of the filter?

I enjoy your Ducati content. I like the /idea/ of these filters, but practically speaking, they won't filter as well as a stock or even some other aftermarket filters. Foam air filters just aren't great for road vehicles. Foam filters are used for off-road vehicles because they don't fail when wet. But they're inferior to paper filters in terms of filtration. In my opinion you've traded one failure mode for another. Not bad per-se, but your own choice to make. I still have the K&N in my multistrada 1200. Hate the filter itself (generally poor filtration), but it does seal a bit better with some addition modifications similar to your "before". Regardless, thanks for the video!

On my 848 I did the K&N withe the rubber inserts to take up the gap that is so disappointingly there on the stock filters, apparently my eight year old can use a tape measure better than the engineers of the original air filter/airbox, 10,000 miles in I was horrified at the sight of the inside of my airbox, I had it all cleaned out, and had the compression and leak down test run on the engine and it passed with flying colors after its valve adjustment was set to the green specifications, NOT and I repeat NOT to Ducati’s checking specification

I believe MWR have a filter pod option for the Multi, but it's a different part number. If I remember correctly the MTS1200 only has an intake on one side, so only one pod is needed.

Pays to get bike tuned with cylinders tuned individually. Ducati map won't do this.

Gee I wonder why I like my old Triumph, Air filter changed with screw driver in about 4 minutes. Even my XR1200 Harley Davidson is simple. But then my 996 2001, is better.
