I feel like you’re back recently, and I’m thoroughly enjoying it. Everybody is apologising for having opinions or lives of their own on the internet nowadays - and it’s not only boring but thoroughly unhealthy. I enjoy the fact you’ve got a gritty edge and real life, it adds realism to your content and makes your advice worth taking 🤷🏻♀️

Aww. I wanted to see the gate! LOL But really, what I wanted to comment on was how great it is to feel like you're having a little more fun again on KZbin. It's always been fun to watch you and your family (I've been a faithful viewer since the twins were very, very little) because you're all hysterical and I wish I could have your life sometimes (LOL That doesn't sound at all stalker-y, does it?!). Anyway, it just feels like you are back in the mindset of "I'm going to be the authentic me, and eff 'em if they don't like it," and that is just truly fun and amusing to watch. I loved the snake story! I mean, ick, but nice job to the ducks for alerting you! I also love seeing the projects getting done! We just bought & moved into our first house, and the projects... OH, the projects!

Hello, I’m 75 1/2 & am enjoying your videos. We had 4 kids, nieces & nephew & several of our sons friends here regularly & sometimes living with us. We bought a new home on an acre of ground when I was 30. We later added another 1/2 acre. We have had several animals through the years, ie. Horses, goats, rabbits, dogs, & cats. I didn’t home school because I worked outside the home, but I can relate to a lot of the things your videos are about. 😊 Thanks. Kris

My grandma had a snake in her cellar that she let live there. She would feed it to keep mice away. She sent my aunt down for something, she didn’t know about it. As she was coming up the stairs it bopped her on the head. My grandma said she ran up tripping all the way and peed herself. It was the funniest story hearing from my 80 year old grandma and 60 year old aunt. The story still makes me laugh.
@leahwest94692 жыл бұрын
I second the tramp idea. Save the horror stories, people!! A trampoline GAME-CHANGER was digging a hole and putting the base in it so the jumping part was level with the ground. It’s the best! We had the netted type too, but it was always destroyed by weather and kids climbing on it. Put the tramp in the ground and it will never blow away or run the risk of kids falling off.

My dad was a master plumber and HVAC tech from the time he was 16. I can speak for him in saying that manual labor trades are dying. The younger generation doesn’t want to do dirty, hot, hard work. Plumbers and HVAC guys can make good money but it’s not easy. He had a very loyal and satisfied customer base for decades. And when guys like him retire, it leaves all those people without tradesmen to rely on. He is retired but still does his cont. Ed. To keep his licenses and there are very few young guys at the yearly classes. No one is pushing these skills as viable options for young people coming out of school, and they should be. You will always need a plumber and you will always need an HVAC tech. If you want to be cool or warm in your house and have a flushing toilet. It’s getting harder and harder to find dependable guys to do this work.

Stephanie, I totally agree ! College definitely not for everyone nor should be . The price for a college education is ridiculous !! There was a piece on one of the Sunday morning shows about trade schools and I thought, it's about time !!! Have a great day !
@susansmith4932 жыл бұрын
My worry about this push for trades (which I support) is that we're pushing boys into it while encouraging girls to go to medical school. Boys are already grossly underrepresented in college.
@susansmith4932 жыл бұрын
@@lindaga820 We started the push for everyone to go to college when we started thinking and implying that education and intelligence are one on the same. They're not. They do not need eachother to exist. So ..the "college is not for everyone" statement is often perceived (and meant) as "you're not that intelligent." I'm not saying you mean this ..I'm just saying society tends to use "education" to mean "intelligence."
@stephaniethomasson88122 жыл бұрын
@@susansmith493 there are plenty of (18 month to 2 year) programs available in community colleges to females, too. 4 year (or double that sometimes in the medical field which is not the only place girls go for employment) are not the answer for everyone. Nor are they financially attainable. And there’s no rule (except a gender stereotype) that says girls can’t go to trade schools. I also never said boys can’t (or shouldn’t) go to college. I said the trades that are desperately needed for everyday life (like a plumber or hvac or electrician or mechanic…. Etc I could go on forever) are dying because the work is hard and our society has put a stigma and a stain on HONEST hard work- so no young boys want to do it. It’s a generational gap. Even though they could make fantastic money doing it. Society tells them that the harder and the dirtier your work, the more you are looked down upon. Which is ridiculous- but true. And it shouldn’t be that way. When a 50 year old (or older) plumber sits in a class of 30 other old guys for continuing Ed hours, he must wonder what will become of the profession in 40 years when they’re all long gone. Not one 20 year old strong, healthy guy to be seen.

Finding anyone to work everywhere is hard! It's crazy! Where did everyone go? There's no one to work from entry level all the way up to career jobs & everything in between!! I dont understand where people went? What are they doing to survive? & if you do find someone, a lot of the time they don't WANT to work, won't do a good job, or just have a terrible big baby attitude.
