2010 Macbook Pro 13" A1278 Speakers Replacement

I bought 2011-2012 speakers for my 2010 not realising that they were slightly different. I was able to modify the parts and they still work. If anyone is buying parts make sure the year is correct. all the 2009 -2012 mac pros have the same model number which is weird because the internals are all different. I made this mistake because the parts for all 3 year models were listed as if they are all interchangeable. so I assumed the speakers were the same. but they're not. Thanks for the video! I hate spending money for things I can do myself.

Thank you, found the parts for less than 30 bucks on Amazon. So many connectors though.... Am glad none of them are spring loaded like in the iPhone 4S.

I did it!!!!!!!!!!. Thank dude!!!!!!!.. ps extra care with that connector by the microphone.. taking the Mic can be challenging.... make to sure to properly inserting the 2 ribbons with wing lock by the battery..... thanks again... I changed both speakers and sub woofer.. ..

I finally get it done to replace te speaker + battery. It took me hours because it wont turn on .. the ribbon cable for the keyboard caused it, is really hard to reconnect securely... now my MBP works again..

At 01:38 in the video you can see that the DVD drive cable has just been disconnected but the commentary forgot to mention this. It gets reconnected at about 04:33.

When I tried to unplug the speaker connector it snaps and some sparks appeared. I broked it. Can the Macbook pro still work without this connector? Mine is not working. I'll go to mac support.

Excuse my ignorance dear internet but does disconnecting all this shit reset anything like when you disconnect your car battery it resets your radio presets?

Make sure that the connection with the ribbon is connected properly
