I got my hair pressed & curled by my og hairstylist from age 5 to age 16. It would be a good hard press & if I didn't get it curled at certain times she would really hit those Knicks & crannies lol cause she would say she had to cause she wasn't going to use the curlers that would hit the other areas that she wouldn't have to cause it's getting the heat from the curlers. I didn't know anything about a flat iron if they were around I didn't know anything about them. It was the late 80's. You are talented to press hair with a straightening comb. You have to know just when it's too hot & how long to wait until it's cool enough for you to hit your next section. That takes skills. You did an amazing job it's looks so good too me.

We really let the speed of things mess us us when it comes to black hair. We truly became the I want it now, I want it faster. This era of hairstyling needs to come back. This women’s hair is so healthy. I remember going to JC Penny’s and getting my hair done like this. When Ms Isis was done pressing my hair I was SLAPPING AND POPPING HANDS of people( mostly females) trying to see if I had tracks in my hair. Y’all know how we women are to each other. Smh. The way she is blow drying the hair HITS different👏🏾👏🏾 the flow of promoting the hair to extended to its full length😮 and breakage is so much less, if any🫰🏾🫰🏾 show out miss stylist making me wish I had a jet cuz I know your in another state 😢

Other than for the sake of making sure the hair is dry and of course straightening it, what are the benefits of blow drying the hair verses towel drying and letting the hair dry naturally??
@bumblebee4280 Жыл бұрын
Flattening the cuticle and losing less moisture to the environment. Also heat makes detangling easier on my fine very tangly and not heat trained 4c hair. Even if I'm not going for a straight style, my hair feels softer if I use heat to dry it.
@shells99994 жыл бұрын
Just curious... blow dry, heat.. straighting comb, heat.. flat iron, heat, another flat iron again to put curls in, heat.. i see you used heat protection but that is still a lot of heat.. couldn't you have just eliminated the straighting comb and get the same results without all that extra heat??
