I’m definitely being more lenient with myself next year instead of reading the book in a specific month. Bc sometimes it just doesn’t fit. But I’m so excited to see which will make it for next year! Very glad to have joined this year and completing it! Read a few I probably wouldn’t have been prioritising so that’s always good. Fave was the trouble with goats and sheep, sort of surprised how I just flew through it. Also, I think dnf-ing counts as long as it’s given a chance and not just a couple of pages. Just my opinion ☺️ Really hope you enjoy those last few prompts!

Also wanted to suggest 'a book with a mad scientist/scholar in the story' purely because I seem to be picking up such books lately (Question 7 by Flanagan, Maniac by Labatut, The Professor and the Madman by Simon Winchester), they're so delicious, I'd love to read more such stories and I'm hunting for others 😄

I get what you mean about being more inclusive -- not everyone wants to reveal their family history or their first name. I hope my prompts are specific enough to be slightly fun but not specific enough to make someone uncomfortable. Here you go: 1. The government has given you a stamp worth $1B. If you return the stamp to the government in one month, you get the $1B. Read the book in which you have hidden your stamp successfully. Yay $1B!!! 🎉 2. Read a book with a cover you find completely incomprehensible. (Why is this woman swabbing that wax alligator's nose? Why is this man turning cartwheels in the corn field? What does this upsidedown Portuguese Nunnery even mean?) Enjoy! or Enjoy?

"A book with the exact title as a title you have read, but by a different author." I like to re-listen to Hamlet each year from BorrowBox, and I accidentally downloaded a version of Hamlet by James Marsden late on the evening of 18 December 2024. I then went straight back to BorrowBox to download Shakespeare's version. On researching James Marsden - very sad to see he had passed away that day. I see it as a sign to also listen to that version.

Prompt suggestion: - A book with an animal narrator (or a bird/insect/fish) - Book written by an author from the country/region whose cuisine/dish you enjoy (could be your home country cuisine); e.g. you like Austrian cuisine (or just sausages :)), so you read an Austrian author. I have to admit, that “books with smth on the cover” are my least fav prompts.

I actually did a couple of 'longest on my TBR vs newest on my TBR' for myself this year, so that could be a prompt. Also, oldest book (publishing year) on your TBR. Instead of an author that has the same name, maybe just do first letter of your first name. Something to make it more personal could be 'book that features a bobby of yours', can also be fiction or nonfiction, so could motivate people to read nonfiction. Book about a historical event could also be fiction or nonfiction. Reading the book from your TBR with the least (not lowest!) ratings on whatever reading tracker of your choice. Reading a book you don't know that someone else recommended to you. Idk, I could go on and on, but I'll leave it at this! Don't really have tips on how to get people more involved, aside from making videos about it and maybe doing a book club thing or some readalong streams (but I don't know if you stream). Maybe do a collab video with another booktuber for one of the prompts? Idk. Good luck working things out, and I'm looking forward to seeing what prompt make the cut!

I managed to read something for all prompts this year (if DNF'ing still counts - you left the question opened in your video, but you had ruled in a past comment that as long as we tried a book for the prompt, it counted...) Book with snake: Ninth House - Leigh Bardugo (DNF) Retelling: Thornedge - T. Kingfisher Book longlisted/shortlisted: Piranesi - Suzanna Clarke BookTuber's favorite: Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow - Gabrielle Zevin Author with same first name: Perfect Little Monsters - Cindy R.X. He Animal/Vegetal/Mineral: The Measure - Nikki Erlick (flower bouquet) Backlist from favorite author: Us Against You - Fredrik Backman Honorific Title: The Last Mrs. Parrish - Liv Constantine Volcano: Raviver les volcans - Véronick Talbot Book set in a city you've lived in: À l'ombre de la Sainte Mafia - Claire Bergeron New author (to you): Seven Days in June - Tia Williams Connection to your personal history: Emmène-nous à La Ronde, 50 ans de plaisirs forains - Tristan Demers (Montréal) Two or Four in the title: 1984 - George Orwell Expanding my search to French titles really helped with some of the prompts, especially the volcano one. I'll be keeping that in mind when I prepare my TBR list for your 2025 prompts. Cannot wait to see what they are! 😁 The 2024 list made me try books that would not have been on my reading list for the year otherwise.
