Do you think that looseness in the timing chain was because cylinder 1 was at TDC? I do know on my 4g63, The belt does have some slack when rotated to TDC.

I don't think so... definitely not THAT much slack. With the new tensioner and chain, all of that went away, so I'm assuming something was up with the old parts. Either way, its all good now!

I would have replaced all rod bolts that got over torqued/ stretched. Possible future failure. Bearing clearances could have changed to. Or you’ll probably be fine. Let it rip.
