If you can fix this you should call yourself Mid Year Houdini, takes some serious skill and a bit of magic😎

Wow! Yet another diamond in the rough.... But this one's about as rough as they come! Will be lots of fun to watch! Great video!

These projects like to find me. This old gal looks rough but I can see how to smooth her out. It’ll be in its new home before Christmas.

My Uncle was a body man way back in the 60's..him and his friends were all Corvette people. My Uncle says he spent a lot of time cutting the rear window brace out of cars and putting in the one piece glass. He says " I wish I had saved all those parts !"
@MidYearMitch2 жыл бұрын
Oh man if he saved those parts he would have a small gold mine on his hands.

Oh man Mitch , you've got your hands full with this one . I know you'll make it look easy but it's not , only a man with ingenuity , vision , and talent would take on this project .
@MidYearMitch2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Bob you’re too kind. I like to challenge myself and push myself to fix new problems. I find that to be really satisfying.

It’s nice all those loose parts are going to find their new “forever home”. It’s going to make a great car!

I enjoy taking all these parts that have been taken apart for decades and making a car out of them. It definitely gives me a feeling of accomplishment.

“Because of the way that it is…” hehe. You’ve been watching Mortske. 😉

Haha I’ve never watched him. I’ll have to check him out. I stole that line from vicegrip garage.

Hey there Mitch, Wow, this looks like quite the challenge! I wonder how many insanely-expensive 63 coupes were destroyed by having the split pillar hacked out of them. Oh well, I guess they had no clue at the time. Well, you seem to know what you're doing, so I'll leave it in your capable hands while I sit back here with a cold beverage and supervise. 🙂 Take care, Dan
@MidYearMitch2 жыл бұрын
Hey Dan thanks for the supervision! This old gal is shaping up nicely. Something tells me that a lot of them had that bar hacked out. That’s heartbreaking but now they are popular again lol.

Oh yeah it’s pretty crazy. They were squirreled away for years. There are still plenty of honey holes out there.

What a pile of junk !! : ) I have done this with jeep CJ 7s . You gotta love em to do what you are about to do .
@MidYearMitch2 жыл бұрын
It takes a special mindset to see through the damage and junk to see the light at the end. Once you have that mindset the projects practically build themselves.

Always good to see another Friday afternoon video! Are you keeping this car?
@MidYearMitch2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. Nope this one is going down the road. I “only” have my red 63 and my white 67. All the rest at this point are spoken for.

You are very brave but I love the work you do. If you find a body a 64 Convertible who much do the sell for after your are done. Restomod not Restoration. Dennis

Hey thanks Dennis. Send me an email at midyearmitch@gmail.com. I might know of a car for you. I’m working on partnering up with a couple companies so we might be able to put a package together for you.

This is going to be one to watch. If you start only eating crackers and start talking like Elmer Fudd, back off a little bit. This is a whole new level of rebuilding from scratch. Sounds like you have a good plan of attack. Get to it and have fun. You have our full attention.
@MidYearMitch2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Jim. Haha I’m about halfway through the build now. And I haven’t started to talk like Elmer Fudd yet lol. It’s turning out great. This series should have some new types of repairs in it to keep it interesting.
