S.O.S., Old chrome's best friend when used properly. Everything that had ever broken on me in my life I took it apart and tried to repair. Most of them was a success, and some failed. But I learned so much. (12 years old found an old TV in the attic (b&w) used a file to the back of the picture tube just to see how the picture was made) should be be dead by now. Lol. But at the age of 56 I still take things apart to see how they tick when they die. One thing I learned early on that has saved me big headaches.. No matter the job, always initially turn the screw, nut or bolt counterclockwise to seat it properly. This will reduce cross threading %100. Love your channel.

Plus, dad and I put together my chemistry setups and Erector Sets with the electric motors. It has all come in handy over the last 70 years when other girls couldn’t change a screw or a tire!

A tip for anyone reassembling something with screws, bolts or nuts. To line up the threads, turn the screw, nut or bolt anticlockwise (backwards) until you feel a slight click, then turn it forwards.This will get it started in the right place so you don't cross thread it. This can be very important if you are putting screws into fragile old plastic. Hope this helps anyone reassembling things. Also, if you don't have any threadlock, a little nail polish will also stop the nuts working loose.

A screw, a nut, a bolt only matters to those who could not even manage to do a video straight on to the world! Let alone not having to stop every 10 seconds to re-take the scene. They hide behind their keyboards criticizing what they can't do. You are a natural in front of the camera.

Cool find, Alex, and it was really neat watching you and Jason reassembling it. That was Seeburgs first "series" of Jukebox produced after WW-II, from 1946 to 1948. They were structurally and internally almost identical and only varied cosmetically each year. The record changer was a bit of a carryover from 1941, but the amplifier and speaker was a real "Window rattler". It's a great sounding machine when it is working.

I restored a 1946 trash can several years ago. (I believe yours is either a '47 or '48 judging by the grille.) It was a summer project. I found a reproduction of a service manual for it which made it a lot easier. When you have something like that, everyone that you know gives you their old 78rpm records because they can't play them any more. We ended up with about 350 of them. The machine holds 20, btw. It had a beautiful sound to it, especially the bass. Might mention the magnet on the back of that speaker will pull your fillings out it's so strong. We repainted, rewired, re everything until it shone. It was a great project and even greater machine. My dad had paid $25 for it years before that and when we sold it at the estate sale it went for $1000, and the guy got a keck of a deal, because I found out later that model was going for about $7000. In retrospect I wish I would have kept it. Good luck with yours.

@Ragnar85044 жыл бұрын
Without someone being able to scan or more likely model the replacement parts it's utterly useless. 3D scanners are insanely expensive, at least good ones, and not that easy to use. In most instances you're better off designing the part in a 3D CAD software. Besides, all cheaper 3D printers are FFF printers, i.e. basically computer-controlled hot-glue guns that print layers and layers of thin strings of plastic. The finished print has a structure almost like wood grain from all these layers and requires considerable post-processing for a smooth finish. Adhesion between those layers isn't all that great either so the parts are prone to cracking. Honestly, I work with 3D printers and I'd say their everyday uses are still quite limited. If I were to DIY those red plastic parts, I'd probably try to make a mould and shape plexiglass over it or try to find someone who can do that for me.
