As a car builder who watches just a few variety of car influencers on the KZbin, you guys take far more care and observance on your builds than I see on some of the "professionals" out there. The Buick is a pretty sweet car. Happy to see it being given the attention it deserves.

@@S2NAZ I still like the motor home, but it's different. Not so much of a car saving now as a remodeling project. I'm still liking it though. Of course God made us all different, so no one project is going to make everyone happy. I'm not a big fan of Porsche, so I've yet to get up the curiosity to go back and watch that series. I'm sure it's good, but it came out before I discovered BB. Maybe one of these days I'll do it and when I do I'll probably enjoy it more that I thought I would.

This was quite nostalgic for me; the one (and only) engine I ever helped rebuild was a 1962 401 "Nailhead". My Dad had already rebuilt the bottom end, so I did head-work (I enjoyed the process of hand-lapping valves, and cleaning parts in the old solvent parts-washer), followed the book (no cellphones, or PCs in 1977!), slapped on a 4 barrel intake/carb from a spare Wildcat he had stashed away, and fired it up on the last day of my Summer visit there...The same visit I also helped w/ the rebuild of a couple of Chrysler (nee West Bend) outboards; my Dad also had a Chrysler outboard and boat dealership, and got to test-run them on the Potomac, during a very hot, and low-river-level Summer...Great memories... When I saw the thumbnail of that "Alpine Green" engine, it looked, at first glance, you were gonna install an 8V-53 in there! Keep up the great work; wished I'd done more of this w/ my Dad...Is that a Merc 230/250SL in the background?

You two do excellent work together! My dad died of cancer when I was 10 and this was in 1965 and so I never got to do anything with him except I barely remember going fishing and occasionally he took me to work with him but I was very young and don’t remember much more. I sure wish I could have done something like this with him.

This is the second rebuild I’ve begun to watch on your channel. I’m ashamed to admit, I’m not mechanically inclined by any stretch. Watching you and your dad working together is a real treat. I grew up as a “doctor’s son”, it’s not so much that he ever worried about getting his hands dirty (he didn’t), he worried more about hurting them. He taught me quite a bit, but it wasn’t until much later in life that I took an interest in all things engines. My father passed away almost 34yrs ago, and we did many things together when I was growing up, like hunting and fishing. Those are times I most fondly recall from my youth… Anyhow, I’ll echo a common sentiment found within the comments section. This is a fantastic channel, and I’ve enjoyed watching this over coffee, while passing time in the quiet moments of my morning. Thanks for all that you do…

If you need a weird bearing that you can’t find anywhere and you have the old bearing to where it can be measured try going to like a tractor implement parts dept. My brother is the head of our local John Deere parts department and they can generally get bearings any size you need. They should be able to cross reference the size to all their known part numbers. He’s found me some obscure shit over the years that I couldn’t find anywhere, a lot of old stuff it’s hard to even find a part number for anyways. 👍

Such a pleasure to see restoration work done so well... the before and after is amazing! Our family always had big Buicks from the 50s onward. My Grandmother had a late 60s Wildcat... she used to say that most of the time, it just "purred along". But sometimes, she liked to make it ROAR! She had the speeding tickets to prove it! We called her "Hotrod Gran"!

That engine ended up looking and sounding better than when it left the production line so many decades ago! And I'm certain the car will too! You say you guys aren't professional rebuilders or restorers, but your work on all your vehicles tells us that you don't need the "title" of 'rebuilder' or 'restorer' to bring a totalled vehicle/engine back to life, you just need to know what they need to get back up and running and doing the work on them with passion. That's why I love your content, because you don't give up on any vehicle/engine and you got them running and driving without going overboard with your budget. Cheers from Argentina to both of you!
