Your schilleriana looks fabulous. Btw, what happened to your big leaved phals? Do you still have them, or did you give them away?
@rossh82933 жыл бұрын
I think the moss is the cause of the root rot. I use bark and a little fine coir for phalenopsis since they die more quickly from being too wet than too dry.

actually I think will be nice to do your orchid update from your first video 8 years ago. I will be very interested to see how your orchid doing over the past 8 years.

Really good information, those are big keikis. My one keiki I have is smaller but growing a little faster each month. Can't wait for it to flower one day. Thank you Dani.🤗🌟

I just ran into your channel when I was looking up oncidium and brassada care videos. I love how informative every video is and I thank you for sharing your knowledge. Just rescued 2 phals, one has a little mealybug problem. Saw that video ;) Have an awesome day

In cases like this, i use root boosters or fertilizers that promote root growth and then my orchids with one or two roots explode with a lot of roots and my plants grow much faster because they have the capacity to absorb more nutrients and water. I recommend them always IF you know how to use them.

What is the name of the product you use and how often do you use it?
@p4ul10103 жыл бұрын
@@orchidgarden3124 the one i use im not sure is available everywhere. Is one i buy locally at my garden centers but i think is made here in Puerto Rico. Is called “Raizal 400” and is formulated with the plant hormone auxins and other nutrients to promote root growth and plant development. I dilute it in water more than the instructions say and use it every 15 days or so. I grow my plants outside in a tropical climate but my area is quite dry and windy so i still need to water regularly but use the root booster like i said, every 15 days, in the leaves and base of the orchids when is one that needs it.

Thank you for this video. In my short journey as an orchid owner I’ve had several orchids with yellowing leaves resembling the appearance of your orchid. I think it’s also some kind of fungus. I am always so careful watering and drying the crown. I use a wash bottle to make sure my water only goes on the roots and nowhere else. But I am beginning to think there are certain spores in my indoor air. I also had the incident with my cattleya a couple of weeks ago in which you offered your comment. I’ve seen many plants like this at the store and I just don’t know if they come infected (but not showing it) and spread it to other plants, or if it’s in the medium. Right now I have 2 aglaonemas which are yellowing consistently (breaking my heart). I’ve chopped them up into separate plants and into separate pots, trimmed off the yellow and propagated a couple stems trying to salvage something, but already I can see the yellowing has come back in less than 5 days. It’s so sad. I wish I could figure out what is the source of this infection and a way to fix it. If you or anyone has tips, please let me know. I am thinking of an air purifier. I’ve cleaned out my Milsbo with alcohol and let it air out for a few hours. I don’t keep the doors shut on it. Doors are always open. Just out of ideas. I look forward to comments from anyone who has gone through this. Thanks

Yes. Fungus is everywhere and opportunistic too. If your orchids become weak they will set up shop. Chances are there are multiple factors. Just wipe your leaves once in a while with anti-fungal solution.

That's funny... I have had the Asc Irene Dobkin for a while and she does wonderfully :) Maybe it was a problem with your individual.

So I’m new to orchids. I have a phal that grew a spike. It was about 10 inches long and I went to put another clip on the stake and about 4 inches snapped off of the top. I didn’t realize how inflexible it was. Anyway is there any hope for what’s left? There are no buds on this part.

I have a really bad problem and I do not know what to do. Your videos are fantastic, but I have not seen my exact problem, I think. She is blooming, but the leaves are done. The riots seem pretty bad. I am not sure how to save it??

Is it possible for a regenrated Phalenopsis to become a different color. It's now yellow with a pink center. Before it was white.

When the bottom leaves yellow and fall off eventually (on phals), but leave the dried sheath on the stem, what do you guys do? Pull the dried part from the stem with tweezers or leave it?

I have one from a grocery store that I have been rehabbing . I have alot of new growth but also had a accident and the tip with all the new growth came off the main plant. Is it possible to save it?

Just imagine, we humans have many, many, diseases that we can contract. Plants probably have just as many or more. We just don't put the amount of time, research, and effort into plants and their diseases. Probably due to plants being relatively easily propagated or replaced. Also, probably not enough financial incentive for labs to put more research into them. If there were individuals with access to the equipment and the drive to do it themselves, plants having such massive variety makes it that much harder. Would be nearly impossible to accomplish in a single lifetime for one person.
