11:21 - "I think we can squeeze in a win with this stadium" yeah but like you can also 'squeeze' in a win with an Ultimatum (you shock in a Sea Gate Reborn, then you have the mana for an Ultimatum, since Triome and Temple tap for two black, the Havens and the World Tree tap for three green, and the Sea Gate and Island give you the two blue) Edit: Also, one other thing - at 27:55, you don't want to fetch with the Fabled Passage yet because not only do you not know whether you should fetch black or green, but fetching also decreases the odds of you drawing a Forest/Swamp, and therefore makes it much less likely for you to be able to get off an Ultimatum the subsequent turn.

If you want a jankier Onyx build, make a super friends deck with Kasmina, to use the +2 to get to the ultimate faster. I also have the BG Garruk in my deck, because giving him a +2 is amazing, allowing him to ult on the next turn. Then each of them can start just producing buff, tramply tokens for 0 each turn.

Unlike Uro or Omnath that couldn’t be raced cause of the lifegain and recursion, red and white aggro can actually feasibly race this deck. Rouges also gives them problems cause of their counterspells. Ultimatum may be top tier, but it ain’t busted tier imo.

I just finished a deck with that stadium. I see that when I tap it I get a counter, so I put in 12 cards that untap artifacts, 8 of the 12 untap it every turn & then the other monsters are hard to block & if I don't get 1 of the 3 stadium cards I can untap the Lantern from kaldheim & I also thought it would be good to have in a win con if I get to 35 Life, if u know that flyer. I think u might enjoy playing it, if I sent it, ever

So. Clex abuse was being talked about since its release. The sultai ultimatim deck emerged shortly after. Here was the problem: we needed a planeswalker really worth it. Ugin sadly cannot be searched. Tibalt sucks. Argue with me i dont care. He existed because we didn't have better. Enter headmistress waifu: She has the most threatening ultimate of any planeswalker in standard. Even Ugin? Yes. Considering only ultis. She directly wins the game. You might think, "oh i have a couple of cards left. I can survive." And then you remember the magecraft. Yeah, you need to be a somewhat serious lifegain deck to not simply die to the activation. Literally as soon as it leaked on rumors i knew sultai had a slamdunk boss monster. To be honest. It could even be time to honor you own name good sir: Mono black. Onyx and tergrid and pure hate.

@@Lightmane If you want my personal opinion on the thing that would probably make the game jump the shark... its not a poorly powercreeped card in particular, those usually get banned, but an ability. To be exact, something that directly affects the mana. Something that would make Affinity and Phyrexian Mana to look like garbage in comparison. That is the moment when i personally would quit the game and i have beeing playing it for 20 years.

i don't get why some people play the way they do. i have been playing non-ranked games, and there is a good portion of the player base that is trash. either trash tactics, trash decks, scoop way too early, or have EVERY pause available turned on and burns their time-outs just reading cards. i have had players concede against the pre-cons.

Emergent Ultimatum is a terribly designed card. It's a tutor for the three most powerful/most synergistic cards in your whole library, where you are guaranteed to get 2 of. It's ridiculous once cast, I think there is no other card currently that is even slightly comparable to it's powerlevel, even at 7 mana.
