I've gotten saves on Junker Queen before, although it is pretty rare. It's probably just inconsistent or caused by additional/alternate criteria.

@@Marblr Contributing to this discussion, I've gotten a lot of JQ saves playing total mayhem, so I'm not sure if that would be the main factor. Maybe she only gets save credit from shout when the victim is healed and saved that way? I think I've seen "saved by 2 players" a lot with a JQ on my team

4:25 Something I've noticed when playing Mercy is that the save message happens before the ressurrect. There have been times where I almost complete a ressurect but can't (either from a stun or from dying) yet still get the save message, although the teammate didn't end up getting revived.

happens to me CONSTANTLY, Ive even had times when their body will start appearing but they still die. I have pretty crappy internet so from my experience ( I can't speak for you) but I'm pretty sure its because of my internet since this never happened when I had a better connection

It might be a latency issue. It's possible that saves are determined client-side, and resurrections are determined server-side.

I just wish it actually meant something, like if the "on fire" system was still in place. Saving someone could have more value. Or, since it's incredibly hard to get PotG as Support, create a SotG system and just clip the best save in the game between the 4 Supports.

wouldn't be a very fair card to award a support for saves though since some have a higher chance just based on their character. like mercy gets a save for every rez and like the video said it's hard or impossible at times for lucio/zen to get a save.

@@Punk3rGirlthe same could be said for other heroes when the postgame card were still there, a Lucio wouldn’t get a lot of heals either but his speed boost could still have been used very effectively, or Zenyatta might have been good at using his orbs, that wouldn’t show up either. Or the Mei might have played down some epic walls, but not done a ton of damage, that wouldn’t show up in game either. But I do miss being able to see the postgame cards still

I was wondering if you could go over potg and how it works. I've learnt many people don't realize killing someone in their ult, environmental kill(s), and saving your team from an ult can be worth more than any 4k play but it would interesting to see if exact values can be found.

That would be such a deep dive for all the conditions and values. I think it's even more complicated now because visual fire meter numbers were removed and there were specific things added like certain heroes having potg priority

I think I once saw that "Saved" pop up to me while playing Kiriko I used Protection Suzu to prevent a teammate to be killed by Junkrat's ult, but I didn't see Kiriko being mentioned here.

it was probably the 50 healing that the suzu provides. the game treats suzu’d players as intangible and therefore any damage that misses them doesn’t count towards saves

I actually managed to earn a save as Junker Queen. I used shout next to a healer that was low and it counted since they were also passively healing.

Lifeweaver added a new special save case to the game. If a Teammate takes damage in Life Grip that could’ve killed them, you get a save. Strangely this isn’t the same for Zarya bubbles.

I just want to point out that Lúcio's overheal gave shield health in OW1 and Brigitte's overheal gave armor health. Even though they merged them into green overhealth, I'd bet they're still coded separately.

I remember one game on circuit royale where I was junker queen, I used commanding shout and got a save for a reaper. Idk if it was something to do with reapers life steal but the save icon definitely appeared

Straight up one dev noticed that he didn't get any saves when he used beat to keep the team alive against a DVa bomb and got so mad about it that they fixed it so his overhealth specifically would count, but deliberately chose not to handle overhealth in general because... well that's anyone's guess how they either forgot or chose not to do so.

There is actually a Mercy bug where client-side it will sometimes give you a "saved teammate" pop-up when you die at the very end of rez (and the teammate isn't rezzed). However, the pop-up doesn't show up on replays and there is no save added to Mercy's "number of saves" stat for the match.

but lifeweaver’s pull can save teammates too (it’s even one of his achievements) although it doesnt heal which should work the same way as a zarya bubble if this game isnt completely stupid maybe even kiriko’s suzu can earn a save by making a teammate evade enough damage ? i dont know oooh this video came out before lifeweaver i guess my bad but an update on some saving sources could be interesting

It's also worth mentioning that the 'rez save timing isn't actually granted when the player is resurrected, It's done at some point right before the resurrection is completed. I've had multiple instances of playing mercy where I nearly completed a rez, getting the saved notification for the player I was going to rez, but got killed milliseconds before it would have completed, and the player wasn't actually rez'ed. Quite peculiar.

Well I don't know if they changed it in this new season , but I do remember being able to save teammates with junker queen's shout ability because I do remember one time when my teammate survived a visor soldier by using my shout ability, so they either have changed it or it have specific conditions that it needs to meet to able to save a teammate as jq

Of note, you can actually earn saves with Mercy's resurrect even when it gets interrupted. For some reason, credit is given before the player is actually respawned. Not sure if these count in her "Players Revived" stat in-game

the 2 second window seems pretty generous. I don't know there's something comical in the video when lucio drops the beat and then cassidy has enough time to line up a shot and fire on reaction but lucio still saved the teammate. Like the cass is somehow like "darn almost got them" after shooting into all that green health

Saves should check for potential damage (outside of Bap) so that Suzu would grant saves. Then saves should also be eligible for POTG

Since you need at least 50 healing to do a save, it’s possible that number is different for overhealing so barrier does save but JQ doesn’t

Ok so I have a weird exception for you Marblr. I actually did get Saves as Junker Queen. It was VERY situational though. Her Shout got me three save notifications when me and my teammates where dragged into Orisa's Surge. I'm fairly certain 4 of us were dragged in and I was the only one who got damaged. However this was a while ago and I didn't think to clip the save cause I didn't think anything of it.

I think Overhealth / Overheal save works like this : since Over means something that past the limit, that means Overheal must be above the saved player's max HP... Probably, since Lucio's Overhealth does searn a save...
