This movie felt like watching the first Saw movie all over again. I loved it.
@troywinters812311 ай бұрын
So, fun and controversial fact, I grew up seeing all of the saw films in the cinema, except for the first one. I went into SAW 2 utterly blind and was captivated and horrified, I loved the film. I immediately went to the original SAW and went ‘it was decent, nothing super special’. I came into the series a film to late, so saw 2 establishes my baseline for how the franchise would be. The original saw feels so different, slower, more purposeful, and having the film basically fully spoiled before I’d even seen it affected my viewpoint on it. 2, 3, 6 and 10 are easily my , and it’s wonderful to see many of the saw fans from all walks of the films with a mostly unanimous opinion that saw x is one of the best. And while I’m at it, the actors sold it extremely well. Long may this franchise continue.

One thing I've always loved about Saw is the dedication to practical effects. They said they had to use a lot of special effects but looking at this video, i don't see a single green screen or morph suit. All the sets and locations are real, the traps are actually constructed, the makeup and prosthetics go hard, it's such a refreshing thing to see in a time when cgi is so heavily used
@ralfsstuff Жыл бұрын
I think you're confusing special effects and visual effects? But yeah, I totally agree. Doing these things practically really helps with immersion
@martijnvangelder19029 ай бұрын
One thing is that it's really different from what CGI is normally used for; namely distant stuff iirc. For closeups it's really hard to make CGI look realistic, if it's the primary focus. Practical effects are a wise decision here because it's close-up gore.

At every turn during his illness someone has scammed him, lied about encountering him for monetary gain, unalived his unborn child etc. I like the fact that they showed more of the man behind the traps. In all the other Saw movies we saw pieces of his back story and more of his traps and all the people he took under his wing to carry out these tests. So, bravo to Saw X.
