So, fun and controversial fact, I grew up seeing all of the saw films in the cinema, except for the first one. I went into SAW 2 utterly blind and was captivated and horrified, I loved the film. I immediately went to the original SAW and went ‘it was decent, nothing super special’. I came into the series a film to late, so saw 2 establishes my baseline for how the franchise would be. The original saw feels so different, slower, more purposeful, and having the film basically fully spoiled before I’d even seen it affected my viewpoint on it. 2, 3, 6 and 10 are easily my , and it’s wonderful to see many of the saw fans from all walks of the films with a mostly unanimous opinion that saw x is one of the best. And while I’m at it, the actors sold it extremely well. Long may this franchise continue.

One thing I've always loved about Saw is the dedication to practical effects. They said they had to use a lot of special effects but looking at this video, i don't see a single green screen or morph suit. All the sets and locations are real, the traps are actually constructed, the makeup and prosthetics go hard, it's such a refreshing thing to see in a time when cgi is so heavily used
@ralfsstuff
@ralfsstuff 7 ай бұрын
I think you're confusing special effects and visual effects? But yeah, I totally agree. Doing these things practically really helps with immersion
@martijnvangelder1902
@martijnvangelder1902 4 ай бұрын
One thing is that it's really different from what CGI is normally used for; namely distant stuff iirc. For closeups it's really hard to make CGI look realistic, if it's the primary focus. Practical effects are a wise decision here because it's close-up gore.

Tobin Bell as John Kramer is what makes Saw good. The tests/traps are cool but I have always come back because of John, the way he justifies his actions and how the tests allow for ppl to escape and 'better' themself and the tests being modelled around the person in them and not completely random. I love the way the story ties itself together. The Saw franchise is easily my favourite. So glad they made Saw X!

Saw X was so damn good. Has the best ending in the franchise. And I absolutely love Amanda and John's interactions.

If the actor said "fun to make but terrifying to watch" it gonna be good. They all have a good time if it like that.

THIS GIVES ME SO MUCH HOPE!!! I loved John Kramer's psychology and his way of thinking as far as his place in the story. I'm so glad theyre fleshing this side of him out!

Ngl it's gotta be at least a bit scary being in the prop traps with how well they have made them

I thought the exact same thing. It must be a littoe terrifying the first time in the trap. A littoe clausyrophobic and a little fear of the trap actually working the way it does in the movie.

@@themakerstoolbox9688 I heard that the reverse bear trap in the first movie actually worked!

So insane that this Franchise is now almost 20 years old. I've gone to the theater to see each of them, except Spiral (not because I didn't want to, but because my last Grandpa passed away right when, or right before, it started, and I had a lot of family things going on, and since it stayed in the theater for a very short amount of time, by the time I was free, it was gone), and I know that I'm in a huge minority here, but I've loved each and every one of them (even Spiral!). Just have always loved the actors, characters, and the storytelling, even though I know a lot of fans aren't crazy about all of the movies. Just has been a great, almost, 20 year run of this Franchise now, and very happy to see Tobin Bell and Shawnee Smith back again as well.

The Mission Impossible franchise over 25 yeary old and it made $4.1 billion at the worldwide box office. Saw just made $1 billion with even more movies. And Titanic alone made $2.2 billion.

I really enjoyed this movie, the whole franchise for that matter. This one in particular does show more of John’s back story which makes you understand why he does what he does. At every turn during his illness someone has scammed him, lied about encountering him for monetary gain, unalived his unborn child etc. I like the fact that they showed more of the man behind the traps. In all the other Saw movies we saw pieces of his back story and more of his traps and all the people he took under his wing to carry out these tests. So, bravo to Saw X.

Kudos to you guys. First time in my whole life that I started gagging through a movie. The eye vacuum scene, I couldn't watch at all. And the scene with Mateo...holy moly, I felt like throwing up. You did an amazing job with all of these traps, for it looked so damn real! The movie was brutal, but one of the best I have seen this year :).

Honestly one of the most interesting behind the scenes things to hit me is thinking about just how BRIGHT it actually is on set. In those dark n dingy SAW dungeons you see on screen by comparison
