I think it’s a self esteem issue. For me it was. I knew my ex was likely to cheat so I agreed that we could have threesomes in hopes that he wouldn’t sleep around behind my back. He still did. I was inlove but I could tell he didn’t live me the way I loved him and I was going through extremes to keep him. His cheating became worst once I was pregnant and he eventually disappeared midway through my pregnancy to sleep around. I think women open their relationships to please the man and ignore themselves and how they really feel inside.

I’m African only, I don’t know what it’s like to grow up with a parent that’s white or Hispanic. I’ve always been treated like a black woman and the look of disgust I’ve gotten when I’ve told people I’m not Asian, I’m not biracial, I’m just African. It doesn’t matter what you look like as soon as you tell people you’re a black woman they start talking to you and treating you different. I can’t relate to a biracial woman’s experience, however I understand colourism has benefited me. I still don’t get biracial privilege though. My daughter is half white but I’m a single mum and she gets the black treatment from the system because there’s no white parent on the scene.
