In this video we are comparing Text-R sublimation paper to A-Sub Sublimation paper. We are printing on both papers using our sawgrass sg500 sublimation printer and sublimating them onto 100% polyester. Lets see if one is better than the other.

IJ Plain stands for Ink Jet plain paper. Also, check your spooling settings, may be the reason so slow.

Yep ASub paper does better. I’ve tried both and I didn’t like the TextPrint for shirts only the ASub. Now the TextPrint paper does fantastic with mugs.

Don’t change your ink when it says low ink - it will tell you when it’s completely depleted .. you can print tons on low ink I have printed 40+ on 1% .. I have the sg800 and there is a way to look in the actual machine to know what the true % is but I’m not sure how to do it on yours

I have been using A-Sub since I leaned about it on a web blog. By the way, I also tried truepix paper and it gets more ink than a-sub paper… kinda same situation as your comparison

The two with the least ink appear to have transferred more of the darker colors. perhaps the vibrancy you see is just contrast.

I probably should but I don’t. That’s probably the best thing so it lasts the longest. It does it’s self cleaning and maintenance on its own that way. Maybe I’ll start keeping it on. You can clog the heads if you leave it off and don’t use it for a long while.

The one that didn't have as much ink, probably had more chemicals sprayed on it while they were making it. So the paper couldn't soak in the ink.

Photographic is for photos, vivid is more for solid colours like logos and vector images.

Yes you can print directly to the printer but I have never used that method.

the reason why it prints so slow is because you are using creative studio :( - try to fix your artwork in photoshop and just use print manager ...its a hassle for sure

@@adubbproductions no - design and size your art in photoshop for example size it 11x17inches (so on and so forth)...open print manager and then open the file from print manager...also, you can print directly from photoshop (and it prints instantly)but I havent found a good color profile yet...but yea I have experienced the same struggle with mines but now its operating smoothly (even with the cheaper inks)

Flip the paper that is in your printer to the other side. All printers have a little drawing showing what side to put the plain side of the paper in.
