Big massive tree. Glad you were able to salvage it and turn it into lumber. Ekop shows as a utility wood mostly used in plywood. I have not seem much with that kind of vivid color. Nicest slabs I have ever seen.

Insane figure. That stump had to 10-12ft diameter, absolutely incredible yall were about to slab that out. Based off the burn marks on the slabs, the stump had been sitting a long time, was dried out and rock hard. Stunning slabs.

It is sad to think that when all these old growth trees are felled we will not see their likes again. I remember seeing a stump of Mountain Ash (eucalyptus regnans) that was around the size of this one. It was dragged out of a forestry area in Victoria, Australia. They are recorded as the world's tallest flowering plant and closely rivaling for height the magnificent sequoias of North America. It is good to see these workers getting the best value out this rare and getting rarer stump.

In Colorado at the Florrisant Fossil Beds the have fossilized tree stumps as big as this monster. Every summer my Boy Scout troop would visit the fossil Beds on our annual 50 mile hike to Scout camp. We were lucky to have a neighboring property allow us to camp over night there. We always tried to get there in time to spend a couple of hours. The tree fossils both logs and stumps were amazing.

@@luatmac But if the wood is cut that thick, that makes it difficult to dry to a moisture level adequate to make a table top. I have worked with and sold slabs for years and the mill never cut the slabs that thick. I am not saying it is wrong to cut the slabs that thick but my experience is different.

So very beautiful wood, but 60 tonnes? That is 60.000 kilo! Can your crane lift that much ?🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ Those black stripes at 38,00 blade losing its edge?
@luatmac
@luatmac 2 ай бұрын
sir. the crane motor specification is about 50 tons. and we have another crane with specification of 30 tons! our load-bearing cable is strong enough to lift the heaviest log up to 100 tons. however if we do so, the crane motor will quickly break down and require more maintenance

60 tons seem to be a bit overdone! The steel cables look like 10 tons capacity each, which would fit to the capacitiy of the crane estimated at 20 tons. So at any rate not considering any safety regulations the stump should not have more than 30 tons.
@luatmac
@luatmac 7 ай бұрын
It includes 2 cranes, each crane has a tonnage of 20 tons, on the top of the crane hook the parameter is 10 tons, that's not a problem, these 2 cranes can lift up to 65 or 70 tons, in the latest video of I have a 100 ton tree, need 2 cranes and 1 self-propelled crane of 150 tons

Ekop wood is also known as Ekop Meyer or Ekop Zing, when imported to Vietnam it is often called go wood. This type of wood often grows and develops well in fertile soil, so Ekop wood is very large in size, but its hardness is not as good as Pachy or Gana wood.

Beautiful salvaged timber - I’d love a piece from the centre. That said, the guy climbing the ladder while that saw is running is nuts. They must know what happens when a bandsaw blade that size breaks. Not funny.

@@wrstew1272 I meant a slab from half way down the tree/stump - didn’t look punky to me. Regardless, there is absolutely no “Gotta make a living … “ cost to running that saw safely, even in a third world nation. The psychology of workers in hazardous settings is interesting and being “seasoned” doesn’t equal safe either in the first or third world … in many cases it simply means you got lucky so far. That’s great until it isn’t.

sir. that is not the technical specification of the motor on the crane. if using a cable with enough load, it can lift about 100 tons. because we have 2 crane motors! the main motor is 50 tons, the auxiliary motor is 30 tons

@@luatmac I trust you are correct about the crane. However, the block is stamped 10ton. The safe load is the lowest rated for component. I won't go into ultimate load ratings that are generally 4x rating for overhead lifting. The safe load for this system is 10tons. Source: I load test cranes for a living.
