Install an Eye Bolt on one end of the roof peak. Use that as the ropes pivot point. That will save you the hassle of throwing the rope as much

I don't have that "problem" in Brazil, But sometimes I wish I have it hehe. Everything looks so beautiful when is all white like that. Greetings from Brazil.

Welcome Leonardo. Canada in winter is a beautiful place for sure. Just like anywhere though, the snow can have its downsides. Right now we are headed towards our 6th straight month with snow on the ground and so I'm just about ready for some nice warm weather. A trip to Brazil wouldn't be a bad idea sometime when the snow is getting me down I'm sure.

You know, when all his life he lived in the conditions of his Nature, for example, among the snows, then later, even in the preferences of the warm climate of Brazil, you will really miss the winter, the snow! It’s like the Bedouin Arabs: - they take a tent and leave Riyadh in the desert! Just to be alone among the sands of the desert! - Homeland! :))))

Gosh what a workout. I get to do this multiple times each winter on a ladder. My roof rake has definitely paid for itself. How many inches of snow on average do you get per season?

@@sawingwithsandy Temperate zone roof pitch - not steep enough. Sorry, guy, it's a design fail.
@sawingwithsandy5 жыл бұрын
Its surprising that it doesn't shed snow on this side of the roof because the other side of the room is the same pitch and it sheds. This side is south facing and it still doesnt shed the snow. Roof pitch is a 6/12 which usually is more than enough.

@@robertarmin1441 I figured the real issue was the freezing rain we had froze the layer of snow to the steel roof. That's the only reason I can come up with.

@@sawingwithsandy I'm from the other side of the ditch, and was looking and learning. One thing we recognise on the old continent is that you can tell instantly how snowy it gets by the pitch of the roofs: the worse it is likely to be, the steeper the roof, for two reasons: the same amount of snow is spread over a wider surface area, so the same amount of heat from below gets into it faster, and more importantly, the result slides off faster. It's less efficient in terms of material, of course, but if the snow breaks the roof, then that's even less efficient!

light a safe fire inside the shed for 1/2 hour. that stuff will slide off real quick

That's a pretty good idea. Certainly easier than this rope method. Thanks

This is strong! - Dancing with a tambourine! :))))) Little snow at all !! Why clean it up ?! )) - The roof needs to be made stronger if such a thickness of snow is already critical by weight !!! )))

What's the snow you got the snow out of your trees too
@sawingwithsandy5 жыл бұрын
Yeah we get tons of snow up here. We get so much that trees often have branches that break off with any decent wind.
