Don't get me wrong on what I'm about to say. The admins and Team Argentina were well within their rights to take the win away from Team Vietnam because Vietnam made an illegal sling. However, I think it was bad sportsmanship to enforce the rule in this case, because it gave Vietnam no competitive advantage. Go back and watch the sling at 2:25:04. BadBoy was slung 463 stone, taking him up to 923. He does build a castle, much later in the game, after he has mined stone all the way up to more than 1300. BadBoy never drops below 463 stone, so he never used the stone that was slung to him. In fact, Hope not having that stone in the bank prevented him from supporting the push with his own castle drop, which may well have happened if he had never slung it. I do not think you can make the case that there was any advantage gained from the sling, and Vietnam won this game exclusively using legal advantages. Again, everyone was well within their rights to take the win away, but I feel that Vietnam should have been given the win anyways because they won it only using fair gameplay.

I support this take wholeheartedly. Its a situation where I wish Argentina had asked the admins about it, but then asked in their opinion if it affected the outcome. And if admins said no conceding would've been great sportsmanship

Really good games, but... man SUCH a shame they forced the sling rule on that. Badboy didn't use the illegal sling whatsoever. He already had stone in the bank, got 493 stone, and didn't spend stone. He went up to 1300 stone at which point he could build two castles. he only built one castle. Even during the repair of that castle he never went below 700 stone. So he never used the stone Hope had sent him ever during the whole game. I get they are rules but clearly it wasn't on purpose, and clearly it brought them no advantage whatsoever as they never used the slung resources at any given time during the game. On the contrary, it meant Hope couldn't build a castle of his own. So the sling even hurt Vietnam's chances instead of giving them an easier victory. If things like this happened when Viper, Tatoh or Hera were playing they'd give them the win. They'd understand it didn't matter and would respect the good play the opponent had. They have done this on several occasions when maps, or spawns or something else was unfair to them. Both teams played amazing, but Vietnam really deserved the win here.

Yeah I vehemently disagree with the admin call here. If you foul inside the D in football, you don't immediately lose the game. If you run across the pitch in cricket, you don't immediately lose the game. This is not the way to conduct a "serious" sport

@@NicolasIac-yk9dq No they literally don't. The two castles were already there before the sling. The third one only came up once Badboy had 1300 stone, of which most he mined himself. Watch from the sling on fast forward and watch the rss of Badboy and the minimap to see when the castle comes up

T90 have you ever spoke with developers about adding an in game option to wholly disable sling up ages? I hate seeing tournaments decided this way, and it's a fairly standard rule nowadays.

I think we can all agree, that rules are rules, if the admins call it is for something. I saw a comment saying that Argentinians didn't have skill at all and were low elo players. Maybe that person should try to get into a tournament like this and try to compete against players that are higher than him and we'll see how desperate he is. Leaving that aside, both teams did well, like Vietnam more than Argentina. Fun match!

Kinda spoilers for first game : Does anyone know the rules regarding being defeated? thinking of that first game... Can a player concede and spectate with full vision? Can a player be defeated and spectate with full vision? (if only the latter it would be advantagous to keep a player alive with just a market, and likewise to delete your own stuff to get defeated to do so (barring any further rules)). Quite niche, but just thoughts 11

Spoiler alert 🚨 . In map 3, once again, we see someone (Ethiopians) with good infantry options and refusing to ever make the switch, and someone else (Mayans) that actually makes the switch and helps his team get the W. Why are pros so reluctant to switch away from their predesignated roles?

I would like to know if the sling violation was ruled by the admins, or if the choice was given to Argentina. To me, the admins should have laid out the facts to Argentina, explained it had no meaninful impact, and given them the choice. I hope thats what happenend. Because at least that process would make sense. That being said, if it did, id like to have thought Argentina would have been more sporting

Argentina deserved the win in Game 5, but didn't deserve to go to Game 5. Rules are rules, but this was a very disappointing viewing experience. Ah well.

I disagree wholeheartedly T90. This game was not decided by sling, and no castle was dropped after the first sling. The rules prevent sling because having one player slung by another continuously is the objectively strongest way to play a TG. There's a "it depends" on the impact sling has - and its the Admin's role to adjudge that. No other sport immediately forfeits the game because of a rule violation. Also SAX's rules on sling are really bad. If BadBoy was indeed going to decide the game with one castle drop, exactly what stops Hope from slinging him just before he hits imp to exercise that timing? Either ban it entirely or not at all, and if neither, don't offload that mental to the players and expect forfeiture as a justified penalty - again, no other sport does this.

Wether it was a deciding sling or not doesn't matter... They broke the rule and they where penalized.. It's as simple as that... I mean by that logic; they were already winning. So why break the rules?.

i knwo rules are rules.. but that sling didnt really give them the competitive advantage :/ soo many nice games in this series and a lot of things happened both teams deserved it hoenstly gj bit of a sour taste nonetheless u really dont want this rule to change this so much...'wouldn't it be easy to create a mod that disables slinging to someone on a higher age? playing with this mod on to not do this would seem better than oh ye.. u just got to imp my sling was a bit late u lost now... i get it this case was minutes after advancing to imp... @@Mahrac126 Yes but they didn't do that though. The stone was never used. Badboy mined stone of his own until he had 1300 and only dropped one more castle. He never went under 500 stone or even close to that which is what he received. If anything the sling hurt Vietnam's chances because Hope couldn't drop a castle of his own anymore.

It's crazy that people are upset about the game being decided by rules being broken. They knew the rules going in and regardless of if they would have won anyways they still simply have to follow the rules. It's not that hard really.

Never commented on any video before. Love the content but so disappointed seeing Argentina going to semi finals. They got no skill as compared to Viet. last game was so obvious low elo crap. I hope they loose the next game. Shame on them for being that desperate in the last match. Viet definitely deserved the win n move to next series.

T90 you like soccer, right? If a player does a bad foul, you give her/him a yellow card, right? If it's very bad, you kick her/him with a red card. But you don't give the victory to the other team, especially if the game has already won. It makes no sense. Even Argentinian players, if they were fairplay, they would give the victory to Vietnam. At least remove the victory and remake the game. But giving the victory...

A lot of people crying because they applied a rule. It sucks to commit a penalty like that, but if you make a mistake like that and leave out of the game, it your fault, not the referis. Also people saying they didnt built the castle right away, they did it just after the second sling, and they gave back what was left of the stone. So the first sling indeed was used for building that castle. Go cry a river somewhere else.

Go watch the resources from when bad it reaches imp. He drops the second forward castle before imp, hope slings him. Then he collects more than enough stone on his own for the 3rd forward castle. You can have your opinion about whether the rule should've been applied. But objectively the sling didn't affect the game. So stop being an ass and wrong at the same time
