Hello, could I have the references of the nozzle n ° 8 custom please? thank you
@ISKMUSIC14 жыл бұрын
For me: The Daro Behroozi sounded like it has a really nice attack on fast passages. The tonging sounded very crisp. D'Addario - probably the best tone for jazz. Otto Link had the most modern sound and in terms of tone was my favorite. The rest sound "plain", while the Link really has an interesting character. Most of the SYOS's sounded kinda the same to me (except the one I mentioned). Very minor differences...
@MaxDad74 жыл бұрын
To me, Daro's and Leland's are pretty similar. Daro's had better attack than Leland's, but Leland's seemed better in altissimo and subtones.
@timzannes95884 жыл бұрын
The three last ones, especially the Link and the Selmer, sound great with those two each having its own unique character. Nice playing. This is a clinic in why not to get a digitally made mouthpiece and why to search for a vintage one. Materials, craftsmanship and art actually matter for someone seeking his/her own unique voice.

Thanks for this! I much prefer the Custom 8 over the others, probably because I play a Slant. It would be fun to have a glow-in-the-dark Slant.

It would be real helpful if you'd give us your take on the pieces, since it's your sound image that determines your tone quality to a large extent. The differences tend to be too insignificant to matter to listeners and players are not likely to choose what others prefer, but what they like according to what the mouthpiece feels like. Thanks.
@ohdingobongo3 жыл бұрын
The James Arben, Tivon Pennicott were best of Syos, but best of all the Otto Link Florida USA 7* did it for me. I've always preferred O/Links, but then I like the Getz darker quartet sound. I'd like to try the latest Vintage O/Link sometime.

Thank you.This is great. I play on several SYOS tenor MPs. Each for different styles or acoustic setting. It would be of great help to me if you would play a melody slowly pianissimo in two octaves on each MP. Prelude to a Kiss at tempo 48 for the quarter note.Fast and high is great but not all of my gigs need that. Keep up the good work!

They all sound great to me, which one do you think would work best in a loud funk band situation?
@SaxSpy5 жыл бұрын
The Scott Paddock was certainly made for that. In order, I would say Scott, Ryan, then Chad is the crossover piece, Leland and Daro. Daro has a really small chamber, but the huskiness is very unique and not necessarily the vibe you're going for. Be sure to use my code to help support the channel!

Great review thanks! To me the D'Addario had the best fat tenor sound without being thin. And then your pink custom model. But the Tivon model has some lush nice sound also. The roll over piece I didn't like at all. Sounded a bit like the sound was being choked... Keep those videos coming :)

In my opinion, you have set a very difficult task for the listener to discern much difference between the many mouthpieces you have tested, mainly because you are a very good player. Comments about ease of playing/resistance would help. I am quite happy with my Otto Link metal mouthpiece on my Selmer Mark VI tenor.
