I have been waiting for a Saybia reaction. Thank you Agnete! Saybia is one of those bands that you have to see live. I used to work for EMI Music around the time this came out, so I had the chance to see them live a few times. When Søren plays his acoustic guitar, you can see its so intense that its a miracle that he doesn’t break any strings. Many Saybia songs just cut through your heart.

Danish rockband founded in 1993 by leadsinger Soren Huss with friends Jeppe Langebek and Palle Sorensen. They got the Danish music award for Best album of the year and Best Rock Groupe of the year. After their theird album, the last one not as sucsessfull as the two first, they took a brake that has not stopped yet. Soren Huss has done some solo work, singing in danish. The Second You Sleep came out in 2002, and was my sons choice for a first time listening. It went to nr one in Denmark and Norway, also known in Holland, Schwitzerland, Japan The band toured Europe and US. I have to admit that I have not listened to the third album, I just have their first two albums. And those are magnificent pieces of art. And as I have already written in my first reply, this is a band that really must be experienced live.

This is the kind of song which touches an old romantic like me. Agnette, thank you for introducing us to Saybia. I wonder, does the meaning of the band's name relate to the type of songs they sing? The lyrics and music are wonderful, and the lead singer, Soren Huss, has a voice which brings to mind another excellent Scandinavian singer, Morten Harket. Harri, your reaction - the feelings you expressed about the song - voiced my feelings almost verbatim before I found the words. Thank you, friend. Perhaps you'll take a chance on another songs from Saybia; again.

Another great song by Saybia is "The day after Tomorrow"! Søren Huss, the lead singer, is an amazing songwriter. He mostly sings in danish now. He lost his wife back in 2007 in a tragic accident and made a really great solo debut album in 2010 which to a big degree is formed by that experience. The song "Et Hav Af Udstrakte Hænder" gives me the chills every time I hear it. I've translated a bit of the lyrics for you: "May all dreams burst Without faith, without hope With a heart that screams I can't take it anymore, I think I'll stay here Without faith, without hope With a heart that screams I can't do it anymore, I think I'll stay here Among felled trees I have gazed up from the deep and I saw a rolling sea Of hands stretched out where love reached down That held me, and held for so long That I could finally wriggle free With the will to stand up by myself and bear the thought of living"

@@ellenstergaardgravesen1011 Hi Ellen, thank you so much for your comment and translation. I am from Denmark and as a member of Harris community we have possibility to make music wishes. I did not let Harri know about the tragic car accident where his wife and daughter was hit by a drunk driver. That accident took place 5 years after this song was written. Soren Huss had to take care of there daughter, as the only surviver to the accident. Soren Huss has made some beautifull music in English and in Danish, but to Harri and the members it would not make sence to bring a song they dont understand. Take care Agnete DK
