I had to put my dog down August 14 2014 and I realize that was quite awhile ago but he was my first dog and I remember afterwards feeling very very much like one of my kids was gone. Of course now I am a mom of 3 at 33 years old. So yes she has done a great job with her 3 she certainly gives us single moms a wonderful role model. I can only hope my kids turn out as good as her son’s.

it sucks, i had a rottie growing up until i was about 5 or 6, he had a massive tumor in his stomach & he was the happiest dog until his last day. it’s better for a dog to get put down knowing he was loved and cared for by all of his humans instead of suffering and being in more pain for a couple more weeks. (my opinion tho bc i’ve had to put 3 of my childhood dogs down all within a 3 year time span) it hurts but he knows his last day was filled with lots of treats, loves & his humans instead of being along and dying by himself without anybody around him

I think maybe the pain medication the veterinarian prescribed must have also helped tremendously. We had a female rottweiler named Allie that had to be put down. It was one of the saddest moments in our life, especially watching my children say goodbye. She did a wonderful job with breaking the news to the boys.

Been a year today since I had to put my dog of 14 years down. Still have days where I just look at his collar that I kept and start crying. He traveled with me all through my college years, between cities/states, and into motherhood with me. I can’t imagine having to explain that to a child.

Seeing that dogs face all happy and smiling makes me cry so bad and breaks my heart. The hardest part of putting a dog down isn’t only losing your best friend, but knowing that the dog has no idea what’s about to happen. They think they’re going for a ride in the car, go wherever they need to go, and then go home. They’re literally the most innocent things ever and they don’t know when something bad is wrong with them. They just keep staying happy until the end, always loving you. And because they can’t say goodbye like a human can, it’s even harder. All you’d want to hear is your dog say “I love you” or “thank you for being my mommy/daddy”. I think with a pet death never truly comes with any closure. My moms dog died almost 25 years ago and she still cries when she thinks about her

I can relate to her situation WAY too well. My rhodesian ridgeback lab mix had something similar. He also had a mass, and he continued to go downhill. We eventually made the devastating decision to put him to sleep afew days later. It was painful, but the main is he isn't suffering anymore. Keeping Kailyn and her kids in my prayers at this time.
