Good idea to go back to the Fuchs wheels. They define the look of 911’s from that era and not having them first time around was probably a miss for some interested buyers. This showing will do better.

Better than 86k of the previous auction? I’d be surprised if that is the case but maybe it will I would have never thought a mid year is worth 80s……that is crazy to me.

That car did get some love and you and Charles did a great job getting the mechanical resto done. Growing up in the 80's I have a strong connection to the 3.2 over the mid year models and I like your new '86 very much. Good luck on the auction and the new buyer will have an absolute known entity that's documented as being sorted out. Right where you want to be on these cars to have no surprises.

That’s what I’m hoping. At a bare minimum someone will appreciate the turnkey nature of this example. Then there’s the color too. People love it. So many thumbs up and questions about the car when I’m out and about.

Nice car for sure. The 3.2 and the rebuilt 915 should keep any potential buyer interested at ease. I am surprised it's still around. I do think these stock fuchs with the chrome pedals look especially great vs the Campy's--especially on these 70's 911's. GLWS! Thanks for sharing your ADD Porsche obsession brotha! Thank you. I really appreciate the positivity. After the first auction I decided to keep the car so I pulled back on marketing it. Going back to more original is a good idea. Consider pulling out the roll bar too. It's really pointless for a non hot rod and compromises usability. Also, is the outside flag mirror original? Or should it be chrome?

Embarrassingly I am not sure about the flag mirror. It looks like other 76’s have the same mirror, but I can’t plant a flag in the ground and say for sure 100%.

@@Rennthusiast a 915 can be as smooth as butter. But the adjustment is a pain. It feels like one can make it a little bit more perfect. The G50 is more of a positive engagement with out feeling like it’s a gated transmission.

I think this is an interesting story ... suggest you walk us thru what happened/experience on BaT after this second attempt. I think $86k for an updated 1976 was very good money ... way good money if it was still "stock" w that horrible 2.7 - I owned a '76 Targa 30 years ago - looked great but what a POS. Will, are you actually going to make more money , after this new/additional commission ... rolling the dice for sure ... IMHO no way is this a $90/100k car. Then again "there is an ass for every seat" ;). With the cost of parts and labor in todays world, it is not hard to get upside down in a '70/80/90s 911. Especially when you are the one stuck with rebuilding the engine and trans..

This makes no sense. The car IS modified, it IS a hot rod and always will be (motor swap). Putting on stock wheels and the fugly sugar scoops looks worse and nobody will credit it as stock, you are chasing stock money with a motor swapped car instead of playing to the car’s strengths as a modified special…. I say this as an owner of a 77 911S hot rod 3.6 Varioram, to me you are going in the wrong direction because the car will NEVER be stock again… prediction is you have reduced the value

I took a huge loss on this car bud. Honestly irritates me when viewers antagonize me about whether I’m a flipper bc I can’t stand typical flippers. Thankfully I have alternative sources of income and really can’t stand the car business. Too many sleazebags. Sorry to be a bit of a jerk but it is what it is. @Rennthusiast
@Rennthusiast Жыл бұрын
It is not realistic that I could profit on this 76 so while I appreciate your sharing your opinion I respectfully disagree with you. I have spent more money buying and fixing the car and getting it where it should be than the car is worth on the open market. This is apparent in the documentation of the work. This video is an update on the car (which people are asking for) and I am simply sharing the story. Do I want to create awareness of the auction? Of course. But at the end of the day I am documenting my journey. Sorry if you feel it’s overly promotional. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Always enjoy the content. A thought on the original BAT listing. Patrick hurt you, he set the reserve too high. BAT is the market for these cars, the highest bid in that auction was market value. It should have been listed at no reserve. I suspect you're going to sell it for very near the previous high bid. 2 lessons learned, stock/original sells, and solid cars should be no reserve. Good luck with the sale and thanks for the content, looking forward to seeing more of your new G body, which I prefer over the '76.
@Rennthusiast
@Rennthusiast Жыл бұрын
Thank you for taking a moment to comment! I am a big believer in personal accountability and in fairness to Patrick, I, too, was in the conversation about the reserve amount….so, I have myself to blame for setting the number a bit too high 😔 At the time I was perhaps overly optimistic about getting more of my money back out of the car. At the end of the day, however, the market speaks to us about value. $86.5 + fees put the car at $91K. What’s done is done and with no reserve we are signaling to all interested parties that this car will indeed be moving into someone else’s care. Hopefully that will make it more interesting this go round. The new owner will be getting a 100% transparently sorted (on video), beautiful and well-documented (prior to my ownership) ice green 911…so there will be no mysteries with it like many other air cooled 911’s that are sold on BaT at a premium. Thanks again! 🙏🏽
