I saw Flash switching his reality once again at the end not because of cans but because of him speaking to mom. I didn't even thinked Barry can be really that stupid to ignore how every change rips STC in it's own way. I saw cans' rearrangement and thought: "Damn, you got lucky to end up in such world as compensation for everything you experienced". He also swears to Bruce that he put everything back - you can't lie to Batman. Beside that bit I agree with pretty much everything you've said. DC's wibbly-wobbly cinematic universe wasn't perfect but it was really interesting to watch it grow with each movie trying to make things differently.

People forget that there was a DC extended universe even before there was a marvel one, and tbh that one hold up better than even the MCU. Batman and Superman TAS plus justice league is an amazing continuity even under PG restrictions.

The only DCEU to me was Snyder's movies and WW1. All had a consistency to them and actually plotting a course for advancement. Everything else was just complete nostalgia trapping, formulaic MCU-like tripe from execs chasing Disney's coattails. The constant bashing from Disney fans that wanted another universe mimicking their own didn't help either. Those that wanted their MCU-like, jokey "fun" movies can now support what WB's putting out now since they're not getting a dime from a good majority of us that wanted more than the last decade plus of the Disney standard.

But at least you acknowledge ZSJL was a phenomenal film despite the 4 hr run. BvS Ultimate Edition is an amazing film and honestly liked it more than ZSJL but I understand it wasn’t for everyone. But it is growing like fine wine especially the 3 hr version which I’m somewhat glad to see.

Yeah ofc. So when I said I could appreciate Zack Snyder's nuanced takes on Batman and Superman, it mostly applied to Superman. Cavill's Superman was "dark" because Snyder poses this moral question of whether or not Superman is good for society. Of course we see him saving people from floods or helping carry a boat to shore (BvS) but everyone is still looking at him crazy from what happened in Metropolis and killing Zod. It's the same kind of darkness that you see with Batfleck branding criminals. "Dark" = not an outright symbol of hope who can do no wrong.

Snyder was showcasing Superman Ina realistic way from the perspective of human looking at him as either a savior or a alien threat cus of what he can do with his god-like powers. There’s nothing dark about character just the way how the world is much like Nolan’s Batman films taking place in realistic world setting and how the modern comics are.

Brilliant analysis of the DCEU, subbed! 💯 I love some the DCEU film's, (specifically Man of Steel, Bird's of Prey, The Suicide Squad, the first Wonder Woman film, Zack Snyder's Justice League, the first Shazam film), while othersare inconsistent with the characters in general, (i.e. Wonder Woman 84, that movie was very frustrating, why did Trevor come back, take over another dudes body, Diana literally slept with him...while he had no say in the matter, like what kind of writing was that? 🤦‍♂️🤢😠), love the DCEU, just hope the reboot bring them the right kind of attention. 🙏🙌😃

Batman v Superman was so awful it made me angry for a month, and I swore to never watch the DCEU again (except if it’s good, so I only watched Wonder Woman 1). And because most have been disasters, I’m glad I made that decision (knowing I didn’t miss anything good).
