Sorry that the audio was so goofy on this video!!! I messed up my microphone settings at the lake which made it all crackly, but rather than scrap the video I replied this was a really important one for me to share :-) Hope you enjoy it, and if you do fancy grabbing one of the coins, you can get them here: wilshawsupply.com/products/head-x-tail

As someone who has had a lifelong struggle with anxiety and more recently depression, I just want to say you should be very proud of what you’ve achieved with your channel. Every video is beautifully shot and edited. I honestly get a buzz when I see a new video get posted. Can’t wait to see what comes next

Thank you Mike, that means a lot mate, a heck of a lot :) I think goals like this really help, something to put everything into, and you manage to convince yourself along the way that things really aren't so bad

You're a good guy man. Over the last few months you've become one of my favourite KZbinrs, you're honest and genuine and it shows. Not an ounce of arrogance about you. Makes me want to root for you even more. Not to mention the quality of your videography and episodes are off the chain. Keep going man, don't ever stop.

It's utterly horrible mate, debilitating, but the help you need is out there I promise! It all started with the GP for me, referrals, endless mental health surveys... but SO WORTH IT in the end. A mixture of Sertraline to break the cycle with CBT really helped me, but the key ingredient was the desire to get better, that's where it all stems from :) Wish you the best mate

@tomwilshaw :) thank really appreciate the reply 👍 Yes I've been in contact with gp and started me on some mirtazapine. Only trouble is the wait down cornwall is around 6 months to see a nhs therapist:/ just got to stick in there for my family x

Like you Tom I struggle to put into words how I feel and how my anxiety and depression have left me feeling. I started fishing a couple of years ago and it helps ground me and allows me to completely switch off and relax. Your comment about change made me think, I have a fishery on my doorstep and it’s my go to place. Perhaps I need that little push to try fishing elsewhere and break the mould of doing what feels safe. I hope 2025 brings you much success as you and your channel deserve it.
@tomwilshawАй бұрын
I think everyone's needs are entirely unique, if you feel safe and you get the 'switch off time' you need at your current lake, there's nothing wrong with that - don't let anyone convince you otherwise! But, with that said, I think one of life's greatest joys is finding new experiences, and the excitement that comes with fishing a new lake is definitely up there!!!! In other words, comfort zones get a bad rep, I reckon they're important for certain times in your life but yeah, like you said, breaking the mould, fishing somewhere new - I reckon it'll be an awesome adventure worth pursuing 😁

hahahaha, now that... that would be nice 😂 to be honest, whilst my fishing skills of course could always do with some work, I am going to slightly blame the small timeframe I have to make these vids, I end up spending 70% of the session running around with a camera rather than actually fishing. If I can change that a little bit next year... that'll be awesome. I've got your new vid scheduled to watch later today, looking forward to it 😁

Great idea with the coin but to make it flip and also trolley friendly, it might be a good idea to drill a hole in order to attach a split ring and make it into a key ring, meaning it's less likely to get lost on the bank or in a purse / coin wallet Just a thought.
@tomwilshawАй бұрын
We did think about that actually, it would make a lost more sense for people wanting to use it as a pendent on specifically for shopping trolley's, etc - and as Han's finishing each one by hand maybe we could list it as an option, but also I really liked the idea of these feeling really special, kinda like commemorative coins, so decided not to make them like that as standard. I'll have a chat with the mrs though about listing it as an option, could be good :)
@benallan6064Ай бұрын
@tomwilshaw I'm a nightmare for losing things, especially whilst on the bank so an option have it on my keys or even as a pendant to wear round the neck would definitely appeal. Love them though and will definitely be ordering one.
@tomwilshawАй бұрын
We'll sort it, it's a good idea :-) If you do end up getting one and we've not made it an option yet, just pop in the order notes that you'd like a hole drilled into it and Han will make it so 😁

I've had terrible anxiety and depression for the last 18 months I've had six suicide attempts and still not received any help. Keep going You can always do it it's hard as it is. If you like Bailey's. You should try Cotswold cream liqueur it's about 10 times nicer

Enjoyable as always Tom, even if the fishing was not at the forefront of this video.

Thanks mate ☺️ Yeah it was hard trying to build this video from the off as a 'not really a fishing video'...video.... haha, but it was nice to just chat to the camera for a bit.

I hear you brother. I caught covid in 2022 which lead to severe anxiety and depression. Fishing is my therapy (along with medication 😂)
@tomwilshawАй бұрын
Sorry to hear it Marc, but yeah I really understand! The fear around that time mixed with the deprivation of social-ness (not sure if that's a word) really did a number on a lot of people, but fishing is definitely the antidote :) (alongside Sertraline lol)

Best advise I can give to all men out there suffering with anxiety and BTW this is to all females to but obviously I can't speak for u ladies, as I have a pens 😂 boys, if you wake up and can say hi to just one person, you have successfully earned that day and anxiety has been beaten! . The next day if you say hello to the cashier and stood in a cue, you have succeded. It's literally one day/hour/minit/second at a time!! Anxiety is worse than depression !! If u wake up and don't want to move and feel better asleep, please wake up, and seize that day, I personally work 2pm/ till 10pm so I have zero life! My goal today was to sit and have a hair cut and I did it, it's the little things that help, if anybody needs my voice I'm here to give/recieve advice, love you all, if you read this, I hope it helps xxxxxx

Cut out the white sugar/ultra processed food the weight will melt away without exercise, and the coin is a brilliant idea.Keep doing what you're doing fella, back yourself you've got a loyal fan base cos people like you.
@tomwilshawАй бұрын
Thanks mate :) I really appreciate that, more than you can know! I'll definitely kill the processed foods next year, I want to try and really limit carbs too and get down to the gym on editing weeks. At that age now where it feels a bit 'now or never'!
