Quick vent! Something I really appreciate is how accurately the creators were able to express depression, without the classic “wears all black, super emo, cuts all the time” kind of stuff. A lot of people that I know who were depressed didn’t cut, and they weren’t sad all the time, but those feelings were still eating them alive. It’s refreshing to see someone portray a depressed character more realistically, and I think it’s part of why Sayori’s death struck so hard with so many fans. They didn’t see if coming because it wasn’t obvious she was hurting. Sorry for the rant, I just got excited.

I really enjoyed Sayori's character as well. The moment that hit me hardest was when the MC first confronts Sayori and tries to support her. Only for Sayori to reply with, "I don't deserve other people's kindness", that really hurt me personally. But I agree, the creators did a great (albeit heartbreaking) job on portraying depression

What a beautiful use of the metaphors, seeing the happy thoughts as things that needed to be refilled in the jar, but the “shelves” of happy thoughts were actually her digging into her head. And her slowly sinking down into the dark pit, to only be pulled up by the noose was very beautiful.

There's no way Sayori had all those tears in her head to make that flood
